4-2 Dani at the changeover

Dani lobbed, counter-punched, Sliced...
She used her experience.

Now, Dani missed her first match point, missed her second, but at 6-4 she still has 2 more!

I hope McHale does well and gets back into the top 100,She comes off as a well mannered and well brought up girl. The girls I like from the American youngsters are Taylor,Duval and McHale..especially Duval and McHale come of classy.
I really have to agree with you Tossip, McHale is well mannered and Duval has a sweetness about her that you can't ignore. I do hope Christina moves up the ladder again, seen her play and she has a very fine temperament.

The only way McHale is going to move forward is if she stops blowing these leads and closes her opponents out. This is the same problem Sloane has at times closing out the deal. Duval has some serious game, but she needs someone who can focus that game. The problem is with players like Sloane and even someone like Isner when they get that scalp or go far in a tournament rather than bring someone into the mix that can elevate their game and get that focus, they continue on with the same coaching that keeps them in the mud.

That is why I respected someone like Andy Roddick who at least tried to bring new elements into his game to get over his humps, and he very nearly well did. After Australia, Sloane should have been reevaluating her team and getting rid of coach or bringing someone new into the mix to elevate her game. This is why, I think, Americans as a whole are failing at tennis because they don't know when to transition into new coaching/team scenarios. Serena is a prime example even in her 30's she still is bringing new people into the fold as needed. After a lackluster beginning to 2012, she brought Patrick in after the French 2012, and you have winner of 3 of the last 5 slams and reclaimed number 1. Sometimes knowing when you need something or someone new in your game is important to being a winner and these young players don't have that recognition.

For those who are interested, Venus and Serena are playing doubles.

Only 2 more (singles) matches left, that would conclude the 3rd round.

Sisters are down a break on Serena's serve. Venus is out there nailing players left and right.

I saw that. I wonder if she's being coached by Lendl, too? ;)

Duval has charisma in buckets, she has very well educated parents so she could be super intelligent above average. She speaks well and comes off as dignified.Sloane comes off as fake, self absorbed, bitter and not smart.Keys is caught up between two races and have a suspician that she doesnt want to identify with black folk and comes off as very boring.Townsend is still very young and has a lot of potential..

I have to disagree about Sloane. She's charming. Fake, bitter and not smart? I suspect you're reading in, but in any case, those are all subjective adjectives. IMO, she's too young to be "bitter," and she's very well-spoken and has a lot of poise. I'm impressed with this whole raft of US women coming up. Overall, the news is pretty good for US women's tennis.

I am entitled to my opinion;)and I am sticking to it...read her interview after her 3rd rd match..no class at all...to me Keys and Duval come off as very well brought up and very intelligent kids...they think before they speak.

Giorgi doesn't look intimidated by the environment of Ashe thus far in the 1st set vs. Woz.... Hope she can keep it up.

I've seen her before and liked her game, so I didn't think she would shrink in the big moments
