Wow, is something different with Petra? I never doubted she had the game, always felt it was between the ears. She would typically have these 2nd set let-downs and then have to battle in the 3rd set. I haven't seen that recently. She's been keeping her concentration and working through these lower-ranked opponents like a hot knife to butter. I might start rooting for her again.

I am sure Serena would love for her draw to be a tad easier if Ana went out early.

Good lord she beat Serena once, I mean once and everyone thinks she's a threat to serena.....please.

They have had some tight matches this year aside from Cincy. I think Serena takes her seriously these days. Did I say anything about Ana beating her? No. I said make it easier.

Wow the quarter Serena is in fell apart quickly down went Stosur too. I am excited to see an Azarenka/Kvitova match is still on target.

Vika has had some ssssshhakkky starts her past two matches while Kvitova seems to be on a mission. It will be a real test for both of them. Hope that one pans out.:D

That is bad for Serena actually. She usually only losses to unknown players in slams. :snigger

Stosur was never a threat in Serena's part of the draw.Sam is a well known choker.

Serena lost to Sam in USO finals. She won against Sam twice this summer, but both
were close matches.

Serena's serve has gone AWOL too. The first serve game and she's hit 3 DF's already

I was wondering how King got a game. I assumed Serena hit four doubles in one game. Close enough.

Stosur gone. Nobody to challenge Serena except Petra in that half. What a difference a day makes.

In their last encounter where Sam had leads in the match....she did her usual choke if I recall both sets went to t/breakers.

In Sams match today against Kanepi she had a couple of MPs in the t/breaker and still could not close out the match.

I think it is well know fact Stosur dose choke in her matches.Stosur lacks confidence and belief

Granted she won against Serena at the USO,to me that was the only time she showed confidence and belief in her game.Apart from that match Stosur has not shown much on the tour. She also should have won Roland Garos in the final against Fran,I was there live at the match, again she froze, the nerves got the better of her.All credit to Fran she deserved her win.

Serena surprisingly DF's and commits a FH error to drop the 2nd set breaker in their doubs match. Onto the decider we go.

most of these youngsters from USA treat tennis as a sorority and are so concerned about being PC....these girls can learn a lot from the sisters about not giving up and being singleminded about tennis.
Madison doesnt seem to have plan b and imploded when that girl started moonballing her.Sloane seems to be lazy ,McHale has kind of regressed,Coco is another player with no plan b and the rest dont stand out...
Oudin to me seemed like the best of the group and the most successful of the younger players.I hope she finds her way and be part of the conversation.
