Well they have to hop on a rising star before the egg has hatched. It's what they do. Sometimes, they end up w/ egg on their face though (Oudin, Sloane, Vaidisova). The vote is still out on Genie. She still has time this year to get back on the wagon.

Vadisova was not overhyped, she made semi's in couple of slams, top ten. She was the real deal. She just lost interest in tennis once she got involved with Stepanek and I believe she had injuries.

Then we'll agree to disagree. Anyone who is the "real deal" would not walk away from the sport in their early 20's before they accomplish anything. Especially not to follow their husband around on tour. Sorry, but she doesn't have the heart and mentality of a champion to me.

Not everyone has the burning desire to continue on the tour for many many years, does not mean they weren't the "real deal."

Fact is is, she accomplished a nice resume considering she left the tour so soon, two semifinals of slams and winning tour events are an accomplishments.

I am sorry, winning a slam or reaching number one doesn't mean you not the real deal.

Like I said, we'll just have to disagree. To me she's another flash in a very small pan. She had a nice run for about 10 months.

Stosur was never a threat in Serena's part of the draw.Sam is a well known choker.

Serena lost to Sam in USO finals. She won against Sam twice this summer, but both
were close matches.
Only one match was close, the first one of the summer was a Serena beat down.

Exactly, and since that US Open final, only one of their matches has been close, and that was Cincinnati.

If you are still around have you any updated news regarding Vera and when she could be back playing tournaments at all? someone asked this question on another site I was on,all that I said she had to withdrew from a tournament a couple of months ago,due to injury again.
Been busy fashionista, so just on the site now. I have not had any definitive information on Vera since she decided to withdraw from the Vancouver Open. Nothing on her pages which I frequent periodically. It seems she has gone into hibernation again. Will try a couple of resources I have at my disposal to see if I can find out anything.
