LOL.. There isn't too much  on this board for my former tennis idol Johnny Mac..

I love his continued enthusiasm for, and promotion of the sport, and certainly respect his accomplishments. However, he does dilute his brand by the non-stop use of superlatives. While trying to make things stand out, he winds up making them seem the same.

Murat.. All due respect but John McEnroe has the best hands in the history of the game(no one will dispute that). McEnroe just doesn't say things like that if he didn't feel it was true.. he should know wouldn't you agree

AP - Mac contradicts himself 20 times a day depending on what match he's working. He's blows with the direction of the wind.

Yeah, McEnroe is always currently watching the best player in the history of the game, hitting the greatest forehand of all time, while playing the best match he's ever seen.

Ha! Too true. He's a great promoter of the sport, and never met a superlative that he didn't embrace.

LOL.. There isn't too much  on this board for my former tennis idol Johnny Mac..BTW.. he is starting to bare a striking resemblance to CNN Anderson Copper as of late:snigger

Don't get me wrong, I :heart::heart: Johnny Mac, esp. as a commentator. And he's very kind to Rafa. Did I hear him say shortly ago that Rafa has the toughest draw of the top guys?? Because he faces Roger in the QF? Love the guy, but he says whatever wants at the moment.

Tomic is the worst moving 20 year old tennis player I have ever seen.

:s

Um... Raonic surges to the front of my mind.
Not counting giants who are SUPPOSED to be slow...;)

Tomic is up there at 6'5" tall, same height as Raonic.

Darn, really?? Well, he looks shorter...:snigger.AND..and..Milos is 22...older legs...

Ooof! Disappointed that Verdasco and Gulbis went out. Two of the few guys that if they have an incredible day could shake up this side of the draw.

It's true that, while they weren't the biggest dark horses in the bottom half, the easier half just got that much less threatening. Also, Nishikori is out of Fed's path. (I think Nishikori is suffering under local pressure as he's closing in on the top 10.)

It's not raining in Manhattan, so I don't worry about a long delay.

sky sports have the dim witted barry cowan(s)..and the slightly more mentally illuminating peter fleming. both droning on and on over a shot of an empty damp court..

in fact fleming is slightly thick as he just said maybe venus can be a threat for the title this year. :laydownlaughing

wow..tomic won a 3hr 56 min five setter,

he battled his way through for once. (rare event, rare event).

To be fair, I do believe Bernie is now 5-1 or 6-1 un five set matches.:puzzled

thants not what I was getting at..its more he does not seem to try in some matches (tomic the tank engine.??)

depending on if he feels in the mood to bother or not.

I didn't think I'd ever say this - as a Brit - but seriously what is it with the rain in NY? Wimbledon is starting to look like the sunny slam.

At least you have pubs. NY has the most miserable weather for a tennis player. Either hot and humid, freezing cold, or raining. I got out.
