Wafa playing decent but nothing special. Coric just not doing much right, bad returning and the forehand has completely broken down.

nadal is standing way behind the baseline rec serve of an 18yr old..looping in returns,

if djokovic is watching he must be laughing his haircut off.

C'mon Borna. You're finally showing what all the buzz is about.

Nadal 2015 version makes an appearance and donates the 3 set.
Serves 4-5 down, 2 DF, a FH sent out and some tentative point sent too short, returned hard by Borna so he could not control it.

Nadal not too impressive today. But at least he's winning.

He started well, but he looks like he has tighten up by the 3 set, Does not look good for the long haul in this event.

Coric showed some impressive fight in the 3rd but we've still seen him play much better than this. And Rafa just dropped out of nowhere much like he has all year.

There was a shot on Toni's face after Rafa df to start that game he got broken for the set and had a concerned look on his face.

It's the walking dead out there. The legs are gone for both of them but the old bastad got the break.

Yes Rafa yes! but you should have finished this match a loooong time ego. The first and second set excellent serve and game, the third a disaster, a gift for "mr. body language" but at the end a good recovery. Good test but the next match I hope to see more and better :plot

I see an order of magnitude improvement in Rafa's performance compared to his recent past performance. Rafa's serve seems to be much more solid than before. His movement seems better.
His overall confidence and body language are better. While he still hits some short balls, their total number and frequency are quite low. I am surprised to see no Nadalites commenting on the good news. It looks like I am more excited by Rafa's performance today than Nadalites.

Of course, in this tourney Rafa's upper limit is QF. However, I think he will go out to Milos/Lopez though. After a fairly tough opener, Rafa has a easy secod round opp. in the form of Schawartzman.
The 3rd round ocould be a familiar foe. :popcorn

While Rafa is not going to do anything big in this tourney, still the improvement means something. It means, he is going to be back in 2016 as a contender.

Vamos Rafa. :clap

If that's the final we know the drill...Rafa wouldn't need to show up. But that won't be the final.
