OMG, I am big time Hsieh fan due to her magical unorthodox style. So, I will definitely watch it.

But, I don't think she can handle Serena's power and so I don't think there is any chance of upset.

Same, fun to watch, easy win for Serena

Well Ons Jabeur just completed her comeback over Sasnovich. Sasnovich certainly not an imposing force or anything. But I did think she'd win that one. Jabeur has just struggled for much of her career. But the last few weeks she's looked solid. Playing some of the best tennis of her career. By results. I haven't watched any of it. Now into her first US Open 3rd round. Gets Pliskova next though.

Kenin deals with Siegemund much better in the second set to set up her rematch with Keys.

And Yastremska dealt with Peterson easily to set up the all Ukranian match with Svitolina.

All four seeds coming through this eighth of the draw. Possibly the only 8th in the whole draw for that to happen.

Muchova just won a third set tiebreak over Hsieh to prevent that from happening in Serena's eighth.

And with Kvitova's loss to Petkovic, that entire eighth has fallen apart after Stephens lost in the first round (yes I'm disappointed but not surprised. Which is why I'm only disappointed and not furious. I don't wanna talk about it.) Maybe Mertens, the last seed alive, will win out. But a nice opening for Ostapenko or Riske or Petkovic or even the other Pliskova to make the quarters. I guess Ahn or Kalinskaya could come through. But I doubt it. I'd pick Kalinskaya over Ahn. And then maybe Kalinskaya gets lucky against the always streaky Ostapenko or the usually streaky Riske. But it should be Ostapenko or Riske. Still, Halep or Andreescu will be thrilled to see any of these players in the quarters over Stephens or Kvitova.

But, she has low IQ.
Would you say that Sharapova has a low IQ.. they're basically the same type of players..my thoughts are is Madison is stubborn and a bull, she feels she can hit through anyone and everyone. I have seen Madison change the pace of the ball Against Naomi's game before she became Osaka if you know what I am saying. .a semi final vs Serena's game would be a popcorn match up, IMO.

Good Morning,

Just looking at the completed matches so far,I am not surprised that Petra lost, her forearm is still giving her trouble.lets face it she has never performed well at the USO.Still this has to be a worry for her and her team,it has been a lingering injury for sometime now.

Just watching the tail end of Osaka's match against Linette, gosh the shadows on the court would drive me insane
Osaka leading 62 and 5-3 in the 2nd set.

Osaka will now serve for the match 5-4

Osaka d Linette 62 64....much improved match from Osaka today, fewer UFE and serving compared to her 1st rd match

Really impressed with Townsend.....from memory she was AO Junior Champ...2 games all 3rd set

A lot of UFE coming off the racket from Simona

Love 40 on her serve

Great fhand winner from Townsend and she gets the break leads 3-2

Halep holds....Taylor to serve 4-3

May I say Taylor really plays old school tennis at times, though it is working well against Halep

Oh nervy play Taylor was leading 40 love and then she does 2 straight DFs

Taylor holds with a high fhand volley she leads 5-3
