Kenin deals with Siegemund much better in the second set to set up her rematch with Keys.
And Yastremska dealt with Peterson easily to set up the all Ukranian match with Svitolina.
All four seeds coming through this eighth of the draw. Possibly the only 8th in the whole draw for that to happen.
Muchova just won a third set tiebreak over Hsieh to prevent that from happening in Serena's eighth.
And with Kvitova's loss to Petkovic, that entire eighth has fallen apart after Stephens lost in the first round (yes I'm disappointed but not surprised. Which is why I'm only disappointed and not furious. I don't wanna talk about it.) Maybe Mertens, the last seed alive, will win out. But a nice opening for Ostapenko or Riske or Petkovic or even the other Pliskova to make the quarters. I guess Ahn or Kalinskaya could come through. But I doubt it. I'd pick Kalinskaya over Ahn. And then maybe Kalinskaya gets lucky against the always streaky Ostapenko or the usually streaky Riske. But it should be Ostapenko or Riske. Still, Halep or Andreescu will be thrilled to see any of these players in the quarters over Stephens or Kvitova.
