Definitely may be under-hydrated, and he's played a lot of tennis of late, but it's dry and not so hot. DM isn't a teenager. I really think he should be more fit. But I don't understand if it was only that. I thought you couldn't get an MTO for cramping.

Hey a MTO for cramping really? I also think that is not allowed, agree fitness is also a factor, frankly at any age.

I don't know...didn't see any, but someone above asked about the MTO's he took and someone else responded that he was cramping. Not clear. But I agree that there's no excuse for top athletes in this day and age not being in better shape. As I said, the weather today here is gorgeous.

I don’t think he got a MTO. I was watching at 6-5 in the third right after he fell over. He didn’t get a MTO then and I think it was because he couldn’t. They stopped showing it later though so I don’t know for sure.

Well said.

Although Federer is at pole position(even if he isn't overtaken), he has massively underachieved in his career gifting slams via some egregious chokes.
Pro-active re-writing of history. He choked in the final of this year's Wimbledon and now you're going to go back reinvent a lot of them as "chokes," with no accounting for the actual winners? This, along with the notion of his being "massively underachieved" in his career is blatant excuse-making.

Good lord, that kid has more injuries than career. That's too bad. And I was looking forward to that match. But ok, better for Rafa the rest than the match play.

Kobe Bryant being interviewed at the ESPN set. He's really interesting on sports psychology and the subtlety of knowing your opponents, esp. as you get older. @El Dude: when asked who was his favorite of the big 3, he used your term "Holy Trinity." BTW, his favorite is Djokovic, because he says they have a relationship. He said that they have talked about what you do when you get older and your body doesn't do what it used to.

Right shoulder injury for Thannasi reason for withdrawal against Rafa
I don't even see how he plays enough to keep picking up injuries. He must be more depressed and feel more cursed than del Potro.

Nadal is the favorite now. He only has to play six matches.

He has had shoulder surgery which kept him out of the game for sometime,I feel once a player has had shoulder surgery their serve is never the same
