He has played decently since the first set. If that had never happened it would have been a nice easy three setter.

I'm just following the scores and even the last 3 sets this guy is in a big % of Roger's service games. And that is rare for a short player. Roger's serve is usually a nightmare for shorter players due to his placement and their lack of reach. Also he can get a nasty kick on his 2nd serves. Given he's hit a good first serve % it makes me think it's lacking pace and placement which has been somewhat common for him.

Shame on Dzumhur for having a Wta serve. If he had a decent serve he could have actually beaten Federer and saved us from looking at that awful outfit again.

Shame that the playing conditions have become so slow, otherwise someone would have no grass or hard court title.

The USO is super fast this year. Everyone has said it. Stop making excuses, Nadal could win on ice and you’d call it slow

I can’t get the match on Arthur Ashe on ESPN + because it is on ESPN3. This is disgusting. Which means I have to get a third subscription to access ESPN3.

Yeah it’s disappointing that ESPN3 app and desktop now costs extra for all these non-televised matches...

Even the USA Fiba World Cup preliminary rounds next week will be ESPN+ only so I’ll be streaming elsewhere lol

The slippery blue clay at Madrid was the closest you'll ever see tennis and ice compared and the coward boycotted it so that would be a resounding no.

The more you guys hate him the more he wins. Keep it up! :good:

Then what does it mean? He ends up INFERIOR to both you don't think his career would be a semi-disappointment aside from the money?

Look, you can't on one hand claim that Nadal and Djokovic should be embarrassed that a 37 year old is giving them a run for their money and/or beating them then claim Roger is underachieving. Nobody in their right mind can claim someone who's been as dominant, as consistently good and who's won so much has underachieved. I agree this last Wimbledon final was a disaster but that doesn't mean his career is plagued by underachieving...wtf is this nonsense?

There was no boycott, though Nadal and Djokovic were the most prominent who said they wouldn't play on it the next year, but a lot of players complained about the conditions. The then-president of the players council called it "borderline unplayable." It looked pretty, but it was not a good choice for the players.

We are talking about a hypothetical where he is passed by one or two players from his era. This would mean he hasn't won "so much" or been consistent. Roger did well after 35 but was a disaster between AO 2010 - AO 2017 in late 20's and early 30's. A timeframe where his enemies have found no problems doing well. That period of crap may end up biting him on top of this Wimbledon.

Londero breaks Novak. He is not bad at all, his game is not exactly of a clay courter as he is known, he hits today very flat and is working well for him.

Didn't Novak just hit a one-handed BH?

Commies just mentioned Novak's left arm. Maybe explains the one-hander.

This is not good tennis. Too physical, with long rallies.
