You called it and he delivered in straight sets. The potential prize for him is to face Fed in R2.

He was just interviewed by the round table in the clubhouse! His ranking will jump to maybe #420 in the world and have a huge payday; esp. if he can beat Roger in a couple days! :dodgy::lolz:

1. J. Chardy d. G. Monfils
2. D. Istomin d. K. Anderson
3. P. Herbert d. P. Kohlschrbrier
4. A. Kuznetsov d. P. Cuevas
5. #775 M. Willis d. R. Berankis
I called for 5 upsets and there were 5 upsets. :clap
Monfils and Anderson were physically not fit enough to play, coming back from injuries.

Man, in the history of tennis, nobody has ever been confident about Verdasco winning a match, like ever :snicker. The most inconsistent guy in the business. He can win in straights, he can lose in straights with a couple of bagels and every other score in between.

GameSetAndMath said:Alert: Thiem is in possible trouble. Vesely takes the first set in a tie-breaker.
But, both are playing well. Hard to say what will happen.
Vesely is no stranger to creating upsets (he took out Novak this year).
