I have only one upset on my radar today. Fog to take out Deliciano.

Lopez is having some injury issues due to which he retired from a warm-up tourney recently.
So, if Fog can keep his head together he got a shot.

You´re on a roll, GSM! Now please write a post that includes the word Murray on it.

Not sure if these will end in upsets, but I will make a point in mentioning them, just in case they do happen:
Cilic - Evans
Jaziri - Bublik

I could see Tiafoe doing a Borna Coric: jumping into the middle of the top 100, but stagnating for a year or two...and who knows if Borna will ever develop further.

Of the young Americans, Taylor Fritz has the highest upside. Tiafoe has problems, Kozlov looks like a David Goffin to me - which is solid, just not top 10. Donaldson has stalled for years now. Opelka, Rubin, Noah, Paul, Escobedo...not sure, although all will be top 100, but probably not top 10. Opelka might be the next Isner.

Still, American men's tennis looks better than it has in 15 years, as I wrote about.

From what I seen in regards to American tennis, my thoughts are not so confident because of the prior connors/McEnroe and Sampras/Agassi eras which were absolutely brilliant. The Roddick/Blake/Fish were good and the present Isner offer some highs & promises but yet little rewards. Will any of today's players have as much success as Isner did, I just don't really know. Sock as I mentioned offers some promises but the (Fritz, Tiafoes and others) I agree with El dude and herios, probably not top ten.

Yeah, I don't see any future Connors, McEnroe, Agassi, or Sampras level players. But when I say it looks better now than it has in 15 years, I could see several Americans be at least regulars in the top 20, and maybe one or two top 10. So better than Isner/Querrey/Ginepri era, and maybe as good or better than Roddick/Blake/Fish, but not as good as the previous highs.

Fritz still could be very good, but he seems to be stalling a bit since his surge into the top 100 last spring. He really needs to start winning more matches this summer; if he gets into the top 40 by year's end, I'll feel optimistic about his chances of being a top 10 player.

Wawrinka upsets Klizan. What an absolute cheating pr1ck Stan is. Lost a lot of respect for him. And before people say he didn't mean to hit him in the nuts, there was no need to belt the ball full force at him from that distance anyway. Sure, many players in the past have blasted balls at their opponents when they had nowhere else to aim but he had ample opportunity to hit the ball anywhere. Scum. Should have lost today.

I said the same thing earlier..Stan had other options to hit a winner ..a ball that bounced high and the poor guy was in an almost defenseless position..that was a real :nono..if it was at Nicky K.. I would have understood

Evans takes out Cilic - great win for him, but really exposes the fragility of Cilic and in some way highlights the importance of mental strength in the professional ranks - everyone can play the shots but to be the best its about the 4 inches between the ears !

It did look quite bad, but I'll go with what Greg Rusedski said after the match - you're late in the fifth set, maybe getting a bit exhausted, and at that moment you know you need to put the ball in the middle of the court. That's essentially what Stan said in the press conference - he's didn't mean to hit him, but he knew he needed to go down the middle of the court.

Wawrinka usually seems like a reasonable guy, so I tend to believe him that it was an unfortunate accident.

Yes, many thought he will do very well. Seppi these is almost out of the top 100 , so this is a very good result for the veteran from Italy

I was wrong on Jaziri, but guessed the second one.

There were three upsets today, two of them involved potential contenders.

1. Cilic #7 ousted by Evans. (Evans reached the final of a warm up).
2. Nick #14 ousted by Seppi (Seppi defeated Fed here some years ago).
3. Isner #19 ousted by Misha Zverev (Misha getting energized by Bro's success).

Yes,,it was good for the veteran Seppi who to my knowledge is the exact opposite of Kyrgios..he always cool or at least composed

Isner didn't want it bad enough...Isner reminds of the times when I was a kid visiting my cousins in the South..when the local dogs wasn't perceived to be fierce or too dosal ..the elders would advise us if we wanted the dogs to turn ferocious, feed them gunpowder.. Isner the Georgia bulldog needs some gunpowder

I wonder if Mischa is good enough to make it to the top 20 - it would be nice to see brothers in the top 20 together. I know John and Patrick McEnroe never did it; Patrick is seven years younger and peaked in the mid-90s, only reaching #28.

No Mischa isn't good enough to make it in the top 20, Hell no.. I think Dyjr would defeat him..Isner's movement was poor and John wasted too many bps opportunities. Well, that's my take because I only saw parts of the match.
