Woznicacki v Ivanovic final

This is a tough match to predict, both players are obviously playing well,a interesting stat, the pair have never played a three set match in six previous encounters.

Their 2014 Match, Monterrey, was very close and both lost more than 50% points on 1st Serve. Ana's return game was a little better. According to WTA H2H stats. Both are playing extremely well, with the most improvement, that I see, is Caro's 1st Serve. She will need it to win. Ana will be pouncing on the soft second serves, as did Garbine. Ana may be less error prone. At any rate should be a great match, I like em both. Rest of the season will be very competitive between them

^ One of the reason's that Garbine pounced on the serve of Caroline was,Caroline wasn't getting enough depth on her serve? she adjusted it in the 3rd set.
Agree Caroline's serve will be a key for her in this match.

Nr. 7 in the race to Singapore? Isn't Ana in front of her as nr. 7?

VIRTUAL RANKINGS before the final in Tokyo (inclusive points achieved till now)

1 Serena Williams 9430
2 Simona Halep 6160
3 Petra Kvitova 5926
4 Maria Sharapova 5575
5 Na Li 5270
6 Agnieszka Radwanska 5200
7 Caroline Wozniacki 4500
8 Angelique Kerber 4480
9 Eugenie Bouchard 4433
10 Ana Ivanovic 4015

You're welcome to do the works.

About the race - maybe I was too quick - but the race is also the 4 slams and all mandatory results + the best two Premier5 level. Caro has only played 16 tournaments this year where Ana has played 17. Have to have a closer look at Ana's points.

The virtual racelist - where only Ana and Caro's points are changed

6,931 USA WILLIAMS, SERENA 1
5,575 RUS SHARAPOVA, MARIA 2
5,189 ROU HALEP, SIMONA 3
4,318 POL RADWANSKA, AGNIESZKA 4
4,049 CZE KVITOVA, PETRA 5
3,970 CHN LI, NA 6
3,901 CAN BOUCHARD, EUGENIE 7
3,795 DEN WOZNIACKI, CAROLINE 8
3,675 SRB IVANOVIC, ANA 9

3,245 GER KERBER, ANGELIQUE 10

If the rankings were given now - if Ana win you can put 165 to her points and she'll pass Caro. If Caro wins she'll be #7 because she'll pass Genie. Why? you ask? Because of the 16 tournaments rule. CAro has to deduct 1 point from the Tokyo result and Ana has to deduct 280 points, that's why Caro is ahead right now. Can have made a mistake so bare with me.

I'll always commend those of you who can figure out the complicated ways the race/rankings work. I can understand it up until the last 3 or 4 months of the year when tournaments get dropped and this and that. I am impressed!

Ana has started this match where she left off yesterday, playing good aggressive tennis, her timing of the ball on her fhand is a delight to watch.Ana's first serve is also working well.

As this match drags on, it must favor Caro, she is the marathon runner.
Caro ahead 6-5 in the second, Ana serves for the second time to stay in the set, this time to force a tie-breaker.

Anna too good - played one of the best matches this year. Nice to see her back on this level again - congrats to her. Also applauds to Caroline for her play - you did your best and that was just not enough today. Oh I really hope these two competitors will join the YEC it would lift it definitely. I think it deserves a beer anyway to celabrate those nice ladies :clap Off to Wuhan.

I count Ana having 4120 points, that would put her in the 5th position ahead of Petra.

Where is Game-Set-and-Math, I want his head, on a platter preferably.
