Wow, scary to think that Andy Murray has only won a single tournament this year, and that being an ATP 250.

Well, it could have been worse. He could have had a title-less year. He got the title because
he was so far behind in race and so decided to play in Shenzhen.

just saw this thread..no frickin clue whats happening here.

Crystal, after every week the original post is updated to give a tally of titles won by different
players. The new message in the thread in itself is just a routine congratulatory message
(whose primary purpose to indicate that the OP is updated) and is not intended to be any
exciting revelation.

Well, Roger has 4 titles now and set a goal of 5 for this year so he's on target. Can only hope the WTF will be title 5.

He is allowed to exceed his target. :lolz:

See excerpt below.

Federer says he is gearing up for a strong finish. “I think this year everything is going really well. I still have so many highlights to look forward to for the end of the season, which is very nice. Usually everything slows down at the end of the season. Not for me this time.”

Congratulations to Cilic, Berdych and Murray, this week's title winners. :clap:clap:clap
All of them increased their title counts, having won at least one before this year. The OP is updated.

Congratulations to Federer and Murray, the title winners of this week at Basel and Valencia. :clap:clap

Roger had set a goal of winning 5 titles at the beginning of this year and he has reached that goal
already and there are three more tourneys that he is playing in including DC for the rest of the year.

Murray did not even reach a final this year until two months ago and all of a sudden he now
has three titles. The hard work has paid off. Also, he has added 1000 points with the two ATP 250s
and the Valencia ATP 500 that he won. He now finds himself at position #5 in the race and is
almost a shoe in for the WTF.

Not a serious problem but now I've noticed it I have to say it - GSM you've highlighted Valencia in bold, which by your key is Masters 1000, not ATP 500.

Otherwise, woohoo for Andy, three minor titles of course but to pick up three in five weeks still takes some doing.

Assuming no new player wins the title in Bercy (a highly likely assumption), we will have
32 different title winners during 2014.

People often tend to underestimate winning ATP 250 titles. However, as the above number
shows as many 68 players in top 100 could not even achieve that this year. Not everybody
can win titles.

Congratulations to Novak on winning the Bercy Masters. :clap

He deserves special mention for becoming the first player in history to defend his title in Bercy and moreover, he did so without losing a set.

The OP is now updated.

As Davis Cup is a team event, I am not adding this to the title count of the individual players
involved.

Anyway, Congratulations to the Captain Severin Luthi and the four players.:clap:clap:clap:clap

1. Roger Federer
2. Stan Wawrinka
3. Marco Chiudinelli
4. Michael Lammer

The entire team deserves recognition as all of them had at least one live rubber victory in their title this year. Marco and Michael won a live doubles rubber against Serbia in the opening round with Roger and Stan cheering from the stands.

Captain Luthi made the good decision of fielding the right team for the crucial doubles match
in the finals and bringing in Macpherson (Bryan Brother's coach) to ensure that Fedrinka not only win their doubles match, but win it quickly as they have to play the next day.
