I guess I need to explain myself yet again; it was relaxed, not the most dominating that I said of Djokovic! He's quite vulnerable IMO; happens when you WIN a lot! The more you win the more vulnerable you are to a loss; even from a lower ranked player! When you win 4 of 5 majors, there's no place else to go! He was bound to have a lull in his motivation so I wasn't distressed or even surprised he went down at the USO! Time will tell how it'll all wash out by the end of the season! It's still "way" up in the air! :yesyes:
its 4 of 6 majors now after uso for Djokovic still insane out this world I think he will win china easy weak boring field.

your welcome anytime bro I'm nadal stat king lol

Nadal's #1 for the season as of now with the difference being in Masters' wins alone! I didn't think this was even going to be a close race since Djokovic didn't have much to defend in the Spring! It didn't work out that way with Thiem asserting himself and Federer keeping it going! We'll see how it all shakes out with the remaining events still in doubt! :yesyes:    :ptennis:

Djokovic Winning the Australian open+ Wimbledon at the age of 32 is epic he's had a great season even if he does not end number one.

I have to say that I'm surprised by the extent to which even Roger, Rafa and Novak acknowledge the GOAT race, at this point. And I think the pressure of it became obvious at Wimbledon, when Roger couldn't close, and at the USO, when Rafa, having it almost on a plate, was a bundle of nerves. He closed the deal, but made it much harder than it needed to be. And I don't think Novak will be impervious, going forward. The sands of the hourglass are going down, and I think they'll all feel it.

It is why I am often say to tennis fans that to be cautious when saying like "Nadal will win 23 slams or Djokovic will surpass BOTH Federer and Nadal in the slam count race and etc..." As seen in the last two slam finals, Federer, Nadal and Djokovic will all feel major pressure the more they get close to their goals. Also, the more the other members of the Big Three wins a major, the more pressure it will be added to themselves to win the next major to keep up with the "pace."

It is why it was important for Nadal to win the 2019 US Open as it allowed to get closer to Federer while still having a +3 slam lead over Djokovic going into 2020 Slam season. Now, the "pressure" is back on Djokovic as he has to keep up with pace especially his best slam is coming up in three months. If he does not win the 2020 AO title even if either Federer or Nadal does not win the AO title, the pressure will continue to fall on him as he tries to chase both Nadal and Federer slam count at age 33 and older.

This is like arms race in cold war. In order to prevent it, the next genners should force a peace treaty on the big three right now, where by none of the 3 win any more slams.

I don't think this is a cold war. More like thermo-nuclear. Zero-sum game, friend.

I just can’t see either Rafa or Novak playing past 36/37; Methuselah I can see hanging on until 40....

nadal also got a better forehand+backhand than Federer by far

Yes better forehand and backhand but also volleys, overhead, drop shot, etc. The only thing Federer is better at is his serve, although when Nadal's serve is on it's up there with anyone.

Do you think Nadal did a good job of keeping up with Djokovic in the Australian Open final this year? Just wondering.

That's rhetorical right? It was an annihilation and arse-kickin' for the ages if you ask me! Both Nadovic playing quite well with commentators lauding Rafa's ability to hold serve 60+ times in a row! So many were sure it was "his time," but "Gawd-Mode" came over Nole and he just wasn't missing; hitting shots that people are still gasping over! :yesyes:  :banghead:    :ptennis:

You're all good seeing as Nadal beat Djokovic at Rome ? LOL. Clearly on the same level as the AO and to think you mentioned lack of brain cells in your post too. Well, yes. Quite clearly.

Cali the Merciless..is there any mercy in you tennis vernacular..Rafa hadn’t played a competitor at Novak’s level since he was injured at the USO 18 in the victory over Thiem. Yes, Rafa made it through his draw and made it too finals Sunday vs Novak. But he wasn’t grandslam tournament match ready to have the battle to death vs Novak...Have mercy my friend, it’s an admirable quality?
