No, he's not dumb, he's quite clever - but he's no Sherlock, which is the point of the stories, really.

Watson is the Ordinary Man, and Holmes is the Superman...

But in this show , Watson notices stuff that Sherlock misses and most which rate to emotion of a character which Holmes definately does not understand

I like Elementary a lot. It's one of the newer shows which I watch regularly. Jonny Lee Miller is terrific as Sherlock. Liu has also done a fantastic job of fleshing out what is also a smartly written character. I'm pleasantly surprised at how well she's done. When I first heard she was cast as Watson, I couldn't believe it. Now I couldn't imagine anyone else.

The writing is far from perfect, and all too often they fall into the mystery-writing trap of coming up with solutions which no one could have possibly figured out because far too much was withheld, but the show is entertaining nevertheless.

Just finished watching on Netflix all ten episodes of the Swedish/Danish co-production of The Bridge. It's absolutely brilliant. Everything about this. The acting, script, opening titles and music, the mood, the direction.

So great, it's been re-made between Britain and France as The Tunnel and between the United States and Mexico as The Bridge.

Essentially, it's a cop drama with a twist: a body found on the border forces the cops of two countries to collaborate in finding the killer. I remember the USA remade The Killing, which was a great Danish TV show. They did a good job too, but I recommend the originals of these for their flavour and mood, if you're not phased by subtitles...

Having jumped the shark, Homeland is now busy jumping whales, red herrings, whole islands. But still watchable, messy and ridiculous as it is...

Yeah it has gotten more and more ridiculous but very entertaining nonetheless. In thinking about it I really think they may have advanced everything too quick starting in season 2. If this is the normal "popular" Showtime series it will be on air a good 5-6 seasons at least. With what they are doing right now it feels like it should be at the very end of the series instead of near the end of season 3.

At the end of series 2, weren't we meant to think of Saul as the bad guy? What happened there? They gave a glimpse and then....nothing...

I've watched most of series 1 on Netflix - abandoned while we watched the Bridge - but I enjoy it, great cast etc. Bit confused by the storyline where he puts up with so much guff from the clever girl who killed her parents and got away with it, but I think it gets even better than this, from what friends have said...

I think that you are referring to the character named Alice Morgan..she is bit of a Devil but have some strange kinship with Detective John Luther.. You should give season 2 and 3 a try.its pretty awesome

I like it, and he's a great actor. Plus, Indira Varma, she's a pussycat! Wraps men round her little finger. Will watch the rest of series 1 the weekend. Only have series 2 on Netflix then, so hopefully they'll update that before I'm finished watching it...

Wow! Looks like they are completely re-vamping the

Mentalist. They are jumping 2 years after Jane kills

Red John. No more CBI, Jane will be be now working for

the FBI with Abbott and this new chick he met on the

Island. He's trying to bring in Lisbon and the old gang

It will be interesting. I guess the ratings were starting

to slip so a change was needed.

They tried this with Castle when Beckett went to Washington

to work for an Agency. Didn't work out so they they brought

her back home.

I am liking this new show " Almost Human ". This will be Mike

Ealy's third try in a row to find a hit series. I like his robotic

Character in this one. He matches well with the interaction

with his co-star Karl Urban ( any relation to Idol's keith? )

Sorry, Gladiators, there will be fewer episodes of "Scandal" than you all expected for Season 3.

ABC has reduced the drama's episode order from 22 to 18, a network representative told TheWrap. The rep declines to explain the reasoning behind the decision.

The news arrives just as the series readies to air its midseason finale next Thursday before going on hiatus until Midseason 2014.

There is speculation that star Kerry Washington's pregnancy influenced the decision. News of her pregnancy with husband, NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha, surfaced in late-October. Notoriously private about her personal life, Washington hasn't disclosed how far along her pregnancy is.

Reportedly, ABC had no plans on writing in a pregnancy for Washington's character, D.C. political fixer Olivia Pope, this season.

Ah! We sat to watch an ep of this on Netflix, while we ate our dinner. A woman's tongue was cut out in the first few minutes. And brought into the police station in a clear plastic bag - that wasn't so clear any more because it was bloody.

We switched it off. Couldn't eat my beetroots. Seriously, that level of explicit cruelty and violence is a bit much, no? I know they all want to be dark and edgy, but still... :nono

I thought Homeland was pretty stupid all the way around this year. No idea what direction they are trying to take the show at this point.

Last episode I saw, Brody was "captured" in Iran. It's a totally senseless and stupid programme, but I think I only have 2 more episodes to watch, so I will. Totally agree with you, though, and we both were critical of series 2.

By the way, I'm enjoying rolling through episodes of Nurse Jackie on netflix while I munch my dinner. Remarkable show, great cast of absurd characters and Jackie herself? Just brilliant... :clap

I'd like to say the last 2 episodes were awesome but why lie to you.

Never saw Nurse Jackie. Did you ever get around to seeing Masters of Sex? I thought it was very good. Crazy to think at the start of September that I would enjoy that show more than Homeland.

Completely agree. I don't want to give away anything about the last 2 episodes, but they were disappointing. It's a shame a show which had such a strong first season has fallen so far.

I also agree about Masters of Sex. I was hesitant at first, because I thought it was just another 1950s Mad Men wannabe, but it's entirely different. The story lines are fun, the writing is above average, and the acting is quite good. It's my favorite role for Allison Janney, even though I've liked her in so many TV shows and films. Beau Bridges also stands out.

Anyone aside from me and JS see the Breaking Bad finale? It was very well done and left no loose strings. The one complaint, without giving anything away, is that it was a little predictable while the entire show was anything but. Breaking Bad is one that won't be forgotten anytime soon.

I'm WAY late to the party here, but how exactly did Walt get the ricin into the Stevia package? That has always bugged me. And...I'm still pi$$ed that Hank got killed!

Well you should probably not talk about anything that huge in the show as it could spoil it. They didn't show him slipping the Ricin into the Stevia so I was kind of curious about that too though it isn't a big deal. I was pissed about Hank as well but kind of figured that was coming and it just happened to be the best episode/climax of the entire show.
