We're just coming out of the swooping season in Queensland. There is a period between August - October when birds like attacking people... mainly magpies and Plovers. It's when they've got young around.

I haven't been attacked by magpies (who are the worst culprit) but have been targetted by Plovers a couple of times. Kind of a weird experience with a screeching bird in your face... and as I told Mrs Britbox, those Plovers are pretty aggressive too,
Gosh! That sounds like something out of Alfred Hitchcock's birds. The nearest experience I've had to that is when we went to Glesga (Glasgow) & Mother & Father decided to eat their sandwiches in George Square & lots of pigeons came down & nicked their sandwiches.

Poor you! I don't like magpies as we feed our birds & we saw a magpie eating a blackbird chick so now we scare magpies away when small birds are in our garden. I thought that cockatiels were native to Australia. They're 1 of the noisiest birds I've ever heard although they're beautiful.

The Kookaburra is probably the noisiest here... make a hell of a racket in the mornings. The Aussie magpies are way bigger than the Uk ones. I've never been attacked by one but somebody I worked with for a while nearly lost an eye in an attack. First time I was attacked by a Plover... it was WTF... thought it was just a near miss at first and then it kept circling and coming back in for the attack. Could have done with a tennis racquet at that point... :yesyes:

Gosh! You have noisy birds then. The last cockatiel we had was very noisy. I just thought that with 1 cockatiel making so much noise lots of cockatiels in the wild would be very noisy & I know cockatiels, budgerigars & canaries are native to Australia. Jeez! That's bad. Vicious birds. Some of our gulls are vicious though. You definitely could have done with something to scare the birds off.

Up through episode 4 on Ozark. I don't love it yet but it definitely has potential and has already been entertaining enough. The first episode in particular was quite explosive.

Jack Ryan begins on Monday for me Darth but I'll probably binge watch the rest on Wednesday.

Was it first available this Monday? I actually forgot that Prime and Netflix sometimes have different premiere dates across the world.

I think you'll like it, one of the better ones I've seen in awhile. Did you ever watch Fauda? That one is more intense and possibly as good or better than Jack Ryan

No, I'm just going to start watching on Monday. You recommend Fauda over JR? Maybe, I'll take that it first. Is it on Netflix?

Yes Fauda is on Netflix. I wouldn't really recommend one over the other, maybe it's more what mood you're in. Both are pretty intense but Fauda much more so IMO.

Any Outlander fans here? I saw the first season a few years ago and though it was pretty slow for a lot of it I still thought it was very good. But the 2nd and 3rd seasons (so far) are flat out spectacular. It is through 4 seasons so I still have about 1.5 seasons to go. It has been elevated as my 2nd favorite current show behind GOT.

Funny, I would have thought that was a bit of a chick show for you, but I really loved it. I got stalled about right where you are now, but it's been a while, so maybe I'll go back and watch the last season or so that I missed. :good:

You said the same thing about me watching the Crown:) I like historical stuff and this one mixes some good fantasy stuff in there as well. I'd say both shows, especially Outlander, is appealing for everyone. Much like many dames love GOT even if it seems more of a man's show.

With the last season of Game of Thrones failing so miserably there is a need for some good quality TV. Something with a decent scenario. I heard this one is worth watching. I am waiting for RG to finish and will bingewatch it one weekend. It is about Chernobyl disaster.

I’ve been watching, and like it a lot. Well-written, informative, and thoughtful. I highly recommend it.

I just finished "Chernobyl". I agree with your assessment. I'd add "disturbing." I liked "Dead to Me," and I'm looking forward to the next iteration of "Black Mirror."

I liked "Dead to Me" as well. I got through all of Outlander, patiently waiting for season 5. Saw only the first episode of Black Mirror. Here piggy piggy :D

Saw Chernobyl this week. Thought it was great, pretty powerful stuff. And for big screen I saw Rocket Man today. I thought it was pretty good too.

Me & my Sister have been thinking about seeing Rocket Man so thank you very much for vociferating your thoughts on it.

Is anyone a “Stranger Things” fan? The third season was released yesterday on Netflix. I watched the first two episodes. I won’t say anything else for now in order to avoid spoilers.

Been wanting to watch that for awhile but haven't gotten around to it.

I've been watching Barry, an HBO show about a hitman trying to get out of the business. It is very funny and still serious, a great mix. Two short seasons of 8 episodes and they are just a half hour long so it goes quick.

Also watched the first few episodes of City on a Hill. A new Showtime series starring Kevin Bacon with Damon and Affleck as directors. Centers around cops and robbers in late 80's Boston. Really good so far.
