Been wanting to watch that for awhile but haven't gotten around to it.

I've been watching Barry, an HBO show about a hitman trying to get out of the business. It is very funny and still serious, a great mix. Two short seasons of 8 episodes and they are just a half hour long so it goes quick.

Also watched the first few episodes of City on a Hill. A new Showtime series starring Kevin Bacon with Damon and Affleck as directors. Centers around cops and robbers in late 80's Boston. Really good so far.

Many people have now mentioned Barry to me, so I’ll give it a try. Plus, I love Bill Hader.

Meryl Streep on HBO’s Big Little Lies:

This show is great. I was happy when they renewed it for S02 and Merly Streep as a dead guy's mother was a good choice. Some might say show is too girly, but whatever, I liked it. I usually download all once the season is over and watch it when I get time.

I've seen Chernobyl while in the plane a week ago. It was really some powerful stuff. They managed to catch that soviet union atmosphere pretty good, the KGB, secrets..I didn't know what exactly happened there in the factory apart that it blew up, but directors explained it so well in the simplest form. No wonder why today there is so many procedures that need to be followed and still things get blown up occasionally, well at least in the shipping industry. I got so paranoid looking on those radioactive particles flying around and traveling with clouds and wind.

Is anyone a “Stranger Things” fan? The third season was released yesterday on Netflix. I watched the first two episodes. I won’t say anything else for now in order to avoid spoilers.

I watched a S01 and then decided to give up on it as I heard that S02 was worse. Maybe I should go back to it again if it's becoming better again.

Instead I switched to german Netflix series called Dark. There are some similarities between the 2, but Dark really makes you think deep. It's more complex and after watching you just want to go online and look for some theories and opinions. Now waiting for S02 which should be out in autumn I think.

I finished all of the latest season of Stranger Things, and was extremely disappointed. I won't watch another.

I have to say people's enjoyment of it will heavily depend on their sense of humor. I doubt anyone would call it a bad show but I can see some people absolutely loving it and some thinking it's just OK. I find it absolutely hilarious, sometimes intentionally and sometimes not.

Does anyone watch free to air TV these days? Outside of live sport, I don't really watch any. Youtube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Stan (Australian Netflix-like) are my staple diet for entertainment + VPN for BBC iPlayer and ITVHub.

I do sometimes when Dad doesn't watch boring programmes. I watch antique, history & wildlife programmes when I get the chance + repeats of coast, Auf Wiederzehn Pet, open all hours, porridge, 2 Ronnie's, Morecambe & Wise, Benidorm & last of the Summer wine. I also watch Catherine Cookson adaptations, Charles Dickens adaptations & Jane Austen adaptations when I get the chance to as well as equestrian sports.

Just done a binge re-watch of Band of Brothers, based on the true story of "Easy Company", an American paratroop regiment in World War 2. This was originally made in 2001 by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. Similar type of vibe to Saving Private Ryan.

Ranks up there with the best.

I loved this show and the S02 on the pacific to me was even more impressive. The atmosphere in these series and the way scenes were done all looks so real, you can feel the horror of these kids who came to fight and looked for the glory of victory, but found nothing but death which is more depicted in S02.

I have to re-watch this too, both seasons were just outstanding.

Don, I didn't even know there was a Season 2. You've just made my day.

The Boys on Amazon Prime was really good. Has a 9.0 IMDB. I wouldn't rate it that high but worth checking out.

2nd season Jack Ryan is coming soon. Looking forward to that one!

I've downloaded The Boys and was thinking whether to do the same with S01 Jack Ryan. I'll download it then. My TV series folder is kind of thin for upcoming 3 months on the ship. I can't download anything there so need to come loaded with stuff.

Mindhunter on Netflix S02 will be released today. I liked the S01.
Money Heist was fun. Just downloaded S03, hope it's worth.
The Haunting of Hill House is supposed to be good and I have it, but I'm not much into horrors anymore, I get all f.... up after watching it.

I started off my list with big little lies S02 and just finished watching. It felt like the plot was kind of thin, as if almost all was answered already in S01. They obviously struggled to live up to the hype of the first season. I read there were some director's wars behind the screen and that's never good when doing a show like this.

Maybe shows like this are not meant for more seasons and if they wanted to continue, could change the caracters and plot, but keep the idea. Something they are doing with Fargo for example.

SPOILER ALERT

There were some funny scenes, but nothing tops Renata when she smashes all her husband's toys to pieces.

Absolutely. When I heard there was going to be a second season, I couldn’t think of any reason for it. Meryl Streep was terrific, as always, but other than that, it was an unnecessary addition to a story which should have ended last year.

Not sure where Deadwood movie belongs, but I decided to put it here, since it is the proper ending to the TV series which were cancelled after was it S03? This was a great show and always liked the characters there, the way they all speak and the words they use. Half of those I don't even know what they mean without translation, but hey sound cool. The conversations are usually top, specially when Mr. Swearengen talks.

Anyway a great show and this movie was a nice reminder how even greater this show could become if they didn't cancel it prematurely.

Deadwood was a fantastic show, I haven't seen the movie yet - it didn't seem to get that much publicity. I 'll have to try and find it online.

Ozark Season 3 has just come out on Netflix, so that's what I'll be watching this week. I thought the first two seasons were great, and episode one of Season 3 looks like it'll retain the high standard.

Have you watched Mindhunters on Netflix? I highly recommend it if you haven’t.
