Have to agree, by far the worst year for Ray Donovan. Not sure if it will be able to turn around, next year should probably be the last.

I binged the total season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Very good show that I hadn't heard anything about. Only 8 episodes so it went fast.

They've already officially cancelled it after season 6 and are going to reshoot it without having Spacey in it at all. It'd be terrible and won't surprise me if they don't even bother with season 6 in the end.

I think I read they are just shooting 8 episodes with Robin Wright as the lead, Spacey's done. Agreed that it ha come to the end of it's shelf life - even without the Spacey stuff

Yeah I meant to say that the show will be terrible without Spacey. They should just can it altogether but they won't.

Any way back for Spacey (in general, not just that show)?

No. Only real presidents get away with sexual assault, not fictional ones.

On a serious note, eventually, I think he'll be back, despite time not being on his side.

^ Disagree, he's done. Even if he has the desire to keep acting no esteemed director is going to take the chance casting him.

He's like 60 anyway and has enough cash to keep afloat and hide in some remote place

Maybe in 10 years time he might get a sniff. Mel Gibson's slowly pulled himself back into relevancy, albeit he made comments about Jews rather than molesting underage actors.

I was actually thinking about that (Mel Gibson) in terms of how Spacey and some of these other big names can come back from this. The thing about Gibson is that since his fallout he has mostly been successful as a director. I'm not sure he's been in any movies aside from his own for quite some time and, I may be wrong but I think it is usually a small part. I don't think a movie would do too well if it was heavily promoted with Gibson as the lead actor.

And like you said what he said/did is not as bad as sexually assaulting underaged boys.

It was amazing the first 4 seasons. After that it fell off quite a bit and was astonishingly bad in its final year. Still a great show overall though.

Anyone here watching The Crown? It's not a show I thought I'd like but it's pretty good. I just got done with the second season and liked it more than the first season which was quite boring at times.

My friends in Hollywood insist that Spacey is done. Still, I wonder about a young director getting him into a great indie, down the road. Tarantino has revived a few careers.

Has anyone seen "Dark Mirror" on Netflix? It's like a modern "Twilight Zone." The first 2 seasons, particularly, are excellent. And the beauty is that each one stands alone. No commitment necessary.

Yeah, I watched both seasons. I like history but not period dramas... and it's kind of a cross between the two... but overall, I liked it.

They are currently casting for Season 3 and a new Queen (older version) from what i've heard.

I heard that too. The actress that played Elizabeth the first couple seasons was marvelous (Claire Foy). Hopefully it is still good without her.

Funny, you guys don't usually go for these kinds of things. I enjoyed "Mrs. Maisel" for the look, but I thought it was a bit over-sold.

Please may I say something? It's not directly connected with what has been said but there are obvious connections.
