I finally saw Spike Lee’s incredible film “BlacKkKlansman” and can’t get this song out of my head.

Time for summer - what about summer tunes? Let's start with one of my favorites Loving Spoonful - summer in the city

They were relaxed and fun and laid back - Laid Back - of course (1979)

Danes and still performing - beach mode - Beach - Beach Boys kokomo in a lyric version

More later

Lovely idea. Good songs. Thank you very much for sharing.

I didn't know the Beach Boys were Danish. I like them but although I've heard the song you shared, I'm more familiar with "Good Vibrations" & "I wanna go home." I used to sing the last song I mentioned when people decided to take me off late.

For some reason, I've copied & pasted the code from the share section of youtube as usual but it only embedded the last 1. 1 of the other times I did that & it embedded all except 1.

I will say for your information because of the above reason, the 1st song I've shared is "You took the words right out of my mouth." & the 2nd song I shared is Jason Donovan's "Sealed with a kiss".

Very appropriate, after yesterday’s rained out tournament in Rome.
Definitely. The funny thing is it was red hot & sunny here in Britain yesterday for a change. We've got hot & sunny weather here again today.

I guess for yesterday this is the best song then as the words go "The sun is out. The sky is blue. There's not a cloud to spoil the view but it's raining."? Lol.

The very essence of irony.
Very true. It happens occasionally though. I've known weeks when I've been in Scotland & the weather has been hot & sunnier than when I've been at home though. This song is ironic too.

It is Laid Back which is from Denmark. Guess Beach Boys are from California.

I get you now. I thought the Beach Boys were Americans. It's just how you wrote it after their song before the next 1 which made what you said ambiguous & I mis-read what you said. Re-reading I can see how you were connecting things. I'm very sorry.

Aqua had a worldwide summerhit in 1997 (I guess) with Barbie Girl

Fell over one of the Danish X-factor judges this year Oh Land - here she is with Sun of gun (live)

She lives in New York and play, sing and produce
Next Danish singer is Fallulah with Bridges

Last one is MØ also a worldwide performer been #1 in USA - here with Final song

I remember some of the girls in my year singing "Barbie Girl" when I was in the last year of high school. I didn't like it. I preferred their other song which I sung. This is it.

Mentioning "This is it" I just had to share it.

Back to the summer theme.

Nice tunes - Bay City Rollers had some great hits. Summer - then there is ONE tune which you still hear through the summer

And this I'm sure you'll hear on Mallorca every year

This is still hot if you go to Ibiza

And this was at a time my favorite for different reasons - but still summer ;)

Thank you very much. I love the Bay City Rollers.

When I went to Majorca, this was the most popular song.

Lol, that Sabrina song takes me back.

Remember these Euro summer numbers from the 80s/early 90s @Hoergren

and a bit of latino

Liverpool fans used to sing a version of that song in honour of John Arne Riise. You can hear it in the background...

Oooh John Arne Riise
ooh ah
I wanna know how you scored that goal!
