why can't you use the "same" word as Front - it's "similar"

They're not even similar, so there's the "same" word...

:snicker Well, then that puts your opinion against most all of the commentators and writers out there. [/b]

I suppose you'll post links to what "most of all commentators have said", eh?

Murray was pushing like a dealer. Wawrinka bizarrely who has immense power on both wings, was pushing like Bautista-Agut (the ultimate pusher) in his match against Nadal. Puke making tennis when he's capable of powerful offense. Baffling. Hoping for a lot more aggression and shot making against Fed.

Maybe he doesn't play as well after being worn out by a teenager... :s

Immediately... after you post just ONE that says they aren't even similar.

Aww hell. Here's one from Pat Cash.

"The problem is they both have very similar styles of play, the two of them play almost identical tennis."

I remember you b1tched at Carol to post links in a "similar" way. I don't have links to defend my opinion since I haven't made a website I can link you too.

But has any shot by Novak a resemblance to any shot by Rafa? Do they construct points the same way? Do they hit their ground strokes "similarly?" Flat forehand is similar to heavy whipped topspin one? Their returns have the same purpose? Seriously, I'm at a loss as to how these games are "similar" unless the word "baseliner" makes all baseline styles similar. Imagine that, Borg and Connors were similar. Strange notion... :cover

I saw the link before I "complained." Pat Cash. He's totally representative of "most commentators". See how tough it gets?

They're not "similar" games, regardless of what Pat Cash has said. You know this, otherwise you would have taken the time to describe the similarities to me... ;)

Kieran, you and I are armchair posters. Pat Cash is a slam winner and writes for CNN. You asked for a link and now having lost that, you change the argument yet again. Up to your old tricks.

Up to your old tricks, brother: you said "most commentators" and I asked for links to "most commentators."

I understand, you can't do it. Don't worry about it, but don't blame me for that, either...

No, BBC got the afternoon matches. I think Sky shows the rest of it, including the final... :cover

None of their shots are the same, but they are both what I would call modern 'control' baseliners.

The style is very much about rallies and fighting for court position. Extremely methodical high percentage rallying that inches the player forward to control the inside of the court.

Nadal became this way really in 2010 and beyond. Before that he was more of a defensive baseliner.

Anyway, the point construction is somewhat similar in spirit, even if they use different shots.

eh  the final is on bbc2 tonight..sue barker. timbo and wafflebox castle presumably.

Just checked that, and I'm surprised, but glad. The programme is listed for only one hour though. Maybe to fit it in they'll both employ SABR... :plot

Cool. Cheers for that. Makes a big difference to watching on a laptop. I see it's been changed from 2pm to 6pm though.
