Good final today - at least for the most part. It got better as the match progressed. The final tiebreak was a bit of a damp squib, but otherwise an enjoyable match.

The momentum changes tended to reflect the Serve/ROS ebbs and flows of both. Djokovic served poorly in the first set and then Nadal's first serve dropped off in the second and Nole always looks comfortable attacking Nadal's second serve. The third set could have gone either way...

Hi Betty - I enjoy tennis generally and enjoyed the match. Shame about the final tiebreak.

My favourite players are Federer and Haas. I also keep a close eye on Dimitrov.

nadal started to tighten up when in a bit of a winning position in the 2nd set. it had been a pattern for him against nole.

2nd set service percentage did drop off about 10% which is significant against nole who has the greatest return of serve the world has ever known.

bottom line: it came down to the breaker and nadal managed to hold his nerve. the breaker got away from nole in a hurry.

anybody can win in a breaker on hard courts.

Johan is a welcome addition to the site. He's not a political animal and says it how he sees it.

We have an interview with him coming out in the next few days.

about 5000 posts and 50,000 views will provide us with the critical mass. that may get us moving a little bit anyway.

we will get there slowly and surely.

these things do take time.

Hi everyone!

Baron Britbox, that is a great coup getting Mr Kriek a blog of his own here.
He was an excellent player, grass probably his best surface, winning 2 Australian Opens in the early 1980's.

His contributions to the Global Water Foundation, non-profit organization dedicated to delivering clean water and sanitation to the world's neediest communities, have been immense.

He is obviously very welcome here!

Respectfully,
masterclass
