I saw the nadal match. no surprises. he is way the hell out of it. he wont stand a chance against nole.


not if you don't work on the things you need to be working on. he has no return of serve to speak of right now and he has little or zero confidence in his backhand.

that is recipe for disaster against somebody like nole on hard courts.

jerzy hit every other ball either into the net or out and still nadal had to try to take the set in the breaker. nadal cant even get the 2nd serve back.

nole is only going to get tougher and nadal`s game has been in shambles since the end of 2010.



anyway at least we are getting the big ones right: andy took Wimbledon as we said he would and he will take the u.s. open.

I have absolutely no doubt about that. andy will get his stuff together at flushing meadows.

And he actually did break a few times in that match. Experience, and a champion's heart (and a champion's smarts) won the day today. Probably you could say the same about Novak v. Istomin.

I am hoping to see more progress from andy in cincy. a title there would help his cause but it is not absolutely critical.

arriving fresh and fit at flushing meadows is good enough. he can play into the proper form there.
