Btw Kate, please don't take my opinion on women's tennis too seriously. At the end of the day, it's still one person's opinion, though I threw a couple of facts in there too but still. I did enjoy women's tennis from mid-90s (that's when I first started tennis in general) to mid-00s, say, until Justin retired.

You're entitled to your opinion. But you have to be careful about making blanket statements like all the women's matches appear to be heading in the same direction and aren't competitive. We both know as you even admitted that there are some routes on the men's side too. Seeds weren't lost only on the men's side this week. Stosur (a former USO champ and #11 seed) was knocked out in a 3-set thriller by a teenager yesterday. Very entertaining and highly competitive match. :)

As I've mentioned already, I find most women's matches quite boring and one-sided. However there are some good competitive matches but that's not good enough for me to follow the entire WTA. I also genuinely dislike their gruntings and shrieking but to each his/her own. I haven't followed the ladies for a few years now and don't feel I missed a thing. I did watch a few matches here and there but that was only because men's was on the way, so I had to. I enjoyed the ones that were competitive but disliked the ones that ended up being very one sided. I am sure I would have watched it if it had the competitiveness I look for in general. But I don't mind at all those who watch it and enjoy it.

At the rate Del Potro's match going, I don't think Andy's will start any time soon. I see Serena's match got cancelled. That's good news.

Also, they are showing Venus on TV. I would have liked Del Potro but the Americans do rule the TV slots.

Murray's scheduling here has been bad. It doesn't reflect well on the USO.

No, it doesn't. This schedule doesn't favour Andy at all and goes against their policy, so I am not sure what's up with that.

And both Venus and Zheng are going at the top of their lungs.

andy should have been given a chance to play his match yesterday afternoon.

he is the defending champion.

I am pissed. organizers are imbeciles. selfish imbeciles.

essentially 3 days have come and gone and the defending champion has yet to get on the court.

It's ridiculous. How can they have Andy this late when the women's defending champion is done and over with her 1st round match and was supposed to play her 2nd tonight?

What is their logic behind this? I'd seriously like to know. What about his UK fans? It's not 1am for them. It's literally Thursday for them which is the 4th day of the tournament. Do you not feel this is highly biased? I mean what other explanation does anyone have on this?

I don't think they even want Andy to win this Slam.

And guess what? Some plays have been suspended again.

andy has also endured through a bad back during the clay season.

they had no business giving him a night match as his first match.

he should have been given a chance to play yesterday afternoon.

USO has always gotten away with these kinds of scheduling specifically lately and I don't see anyone taking a stand against it. As long as the Americans players and Federer are getting the favourable time slots, it's all cool in their book. That's how I see it. Hey, there are 3 other Slams too and their schedules are fine most of the time. Coincidence? I don't think so. They care about each player and they try their best to give everyone a fair schedule. Is it dumb scheduling on USTA's part? Yes, if you think I am dumb. No, it's biased and unfair scheduling to players like Murray, Del Potro etc. If Andy wasn't playing I'd have stopped watching right away.

it is ridiculous scheduling at best princess emma.

they have been shafting rafa for years.

now they have found a new victim. it is not right at all.

he has also had a bad back. now he may have to play 7 matches in 10 days or less if he does not get to finish his match tonight.

It's been always Rafa and Andy at the short end of the stick as far as US Open schedules are concerned. How can one forget 2008? Nole got lucky because he'd always end up on Federer's end and Federer would always get very nice schedules at any Open. Even with the new order in the ranking, they still find a way to screw one or two players up and deliberately so.

Venus finally loses. So much drama there. Wish she had won though but Zheng hung in there tough, so she deserves it.
