Any big twitter fans? I have to say I'm addicted to it. Not a fan of facebook at all but I love twitter. I follow 6 out of the 10 listed. Berdych and Karlovic are both very, very funny. Who knew? Nothing beats Psuedofed though - just hysterical. I'd love to know who he/she really is. I've never checked it out but apparently a lot of players follow the fake Fed and not the real one.

I never got into twitter but i do have an account. I post once in a while about tennis or the NFL.

facebook is not my thing either but I have a facebook account also.

a few of us are connected.

it seems like I can relax best at a place like this one while I do whatever else I have to do when I am at home.

I use it mostly to keep up-to-date with tennis news. If I can't handle watching a Murray match I'll follow it on twitter with Murray fans. It doesn't replace forums like this and I wouldn't want it to but you can get a nice interaction with tennis fans, journalists and players on twitter.

at some point I will need to check it out but as you know time is of the essence. it does look like a valuable source of information.

one only has certain amount of time. sometimes I just cant cant be at too many places at once.

it ends up being hectic for somebody like me.

I prefer to either work quietly or just read while I am relaxing here.

that said, you are right. twitter helps with the latest breaking news. it happens there before it happens anywhere else.

we blasted right past 30,000 posts here at tennis frontier.

now the next 30,000 will come a lot faster.

we have to keep promoting the site everywhere: that means at other boards, at twitter, at facebook, and at any and all other social media avenues we come across.

just do it.

Good day all!

Most of the top players have played, with the exception of the Highlander who starts Wed evening.

There have already been some upsets to some of the mid and worse seeds.

[11] Kei Nishikori - Looked flat, says he wasn't injured, just didn't play well

[14] Jerzy Janowicz - injury to back - took MTO, not much help. 1st serve avg. only 109, 2nd - 90. vs. Murray at Wimbledon - 1st serve avg. - 128, 2nd - 108, probably should have retired, but toughed it out - was just rolling serves in, some serves only 75 mph.

[15] Nicolas Almagro - Istomin played better - only 2 UE's for match - extended his H2H to 3-0, 1 on each surface

[25] Grigor Dimitrov - didn't watch.

[27] Fernando Verdasco - down 2 sets early, came back, but outplayed in decider

[28] Juan Monaco - retired with headache, stomach pains

[30] Ernests Gulbis - up and down match, lost decider

Who will be next?

Respectfully,
masterclass

excellent post general.

keep it coming.

the action will really heat up in the 2nd week general.

so far I have found nole to be playing the best.

berankis was a top junior and he is not all that bad. what he lacks is consistency.

today he may been a little bit overwhelmed by the occasion also. it is not easy facing the #1 player on the planet.

anyway I thought nole did everything extremely well. and he played a relatively clean match.

The Djokovic match came up too late for me to watch general.

But as you say, it looks like he flew through that match.
It's difficult to see anyone troubling him until the quarterfinals.

Just found out a bit more about Janowicz from an ESPN article.

Three days before the match, Janowicz hurt his back. He doesn't know how. At this point, he doesn't care. He received an injection. He even tried therapy and acupuncture.

Janowicz, the 140 mph man, was hitting serves at 78 mph. He dropped 11 double faults. He even served one ball underhand.

"I couldn't serve. I couldn't turn. I couldn't rotate," he said. "I asked the trainer for more painkillers but because of my injection they wouldn't give me more. … It's disappointing."

His last statement, "It's disappointing" is an understatement. He had high hopes for himself as did many of his fans in Poland. But he's out. One hopes he can get over this back problem. Back problems have cut short many tennis careers.

Respectfully,
masterclass

something had to be wrong with jerzy general masterclass. I missed the match but I did wonder if something was going on with some sort of injury issue. poor fellow had to be hurting evidently then.

that was almost too easy for the other guy.

anyway I am getting sleepy general.

I will see you tomorrow.

The last Grand Slam of the year is starting today!!!

Aloha everyone.
Hi :D read about your trip:cool: won any drinking contests? :p

One of my Croatian friends didn't want to have a drinking contest with me because he was afraid (and knew he had to drive me back to my place afterwards). :laydownlaughing Maybe next time.

Hey CD!!! Long time no see indeed. I'm too lazy to read back in the thread. Whenever I start, something comes up and I close the browser window again.

I'm still coughing, got back from the doctor. The cough seems to be allergic but looks like I have another tonsilitis. :( I'm really considering having my tonsils taken out although they say there can be a lot of complications during and after the surgery.
