ryan Harrison is now 0-20 against top 10 players.

he is going to have to spend more time on clay if he wants to be able to deal with the better players in the game.

he has a great serve. its the consistency off the ground that is missing.

Affirmative.
General Hercules, Harrison needs to drop about 15-20 lbs. You have to move like the wind in today's game.

Harrison took 8 games, just as predicted.

Rafa is in his room playing poker and having a drink or playing Playstation with Andy.

que pasa general masterclass.

nadal played ok considering it was his first match.

he still gets caught up in too many drop volleys.

he is not comfortable going forward. you have to go forward with conviction and close the net.

the closer you are to the net the easier the volley becomes.

you just go in on exactly the right shot.

so that is one of my areas of concern but it is not like it is ever going to go away.

its too late now. he is a creature of habit.

Correct general. Exactly why Wimbledon is getting tougher for him.

Darcis had him on a string bringing him in with sharp angles, which Rafa couldn't put away, then going deep cross court. Rafa's forte is east-west movement, like Djokovic. When they have to go North-South more than they want, they go out of their comfort zone. It's also harder on Nadal's knees to have to make the move in, then back. As you noticed, he doesn't really charge in, probably because it bothers the knee to make the quick stop and split step, and then be ready to move back again. He pretty much only comes in to the net on his own these days when he knows he will be able to put away a winner.

Did you all watch the ATP ranking celebration show on Friday night. How come
nobody is discussing it anywhere. There were 19 #1's on the stage at the same time.
Magnificient show.

I wonder why Pete and Andre did not show up despite living in USA.

Four others including Becker did not show up.

Nice event.

Where did you see it? Was it on the Tennis Channel? I'm sorry I missed it, but maybe it will be repeated.

Good question about Sampras and Agassi. Maybe after the Hit for Haiti they decided not to appear in public together anymore. ;) :snigger

There was a free live stream from the main ATP website. I was surprised that there was
no talk about it in Frontier at all. 19 of the 25 #1's showed up. It was a majestic show.
Everybody was suited up. Ili Natase was also there. Borg, Connors, JMac, Lendl all were there.

It went for about 90 minutes or so. I believe you can see it even now from the
ATP website. Hope, it is still free to see for you. It was free when it was live, at least.

general masterclass are you ready for the great swiss assassin?

Not sure I can stay awake for that general. It's after midnight here already. When does it start? 9 pm EDT, which would be 3 am here.

Though, maybe I can take a power nap and set the alarm. Ehh, or I can just watch it on replay in the morning. :)

Australian teenager---nick kyrgios-- is on deck against ferru.

I don't think verdasco is going to make it today unless he mounts a ferocious comeback asap.

he is down 0-3 in the 5th.

Aww little Andy and Jamie in their Wimbledon t-shirts. I wonder if Judy and Will ever thought that both their sons would be Wimbledon champions.

their mom had a dream.

she built a castle in the air and then spent her life building a foundation for it.

I am very happy for andy. he achieved his dream at Wimbledon.

and made his mom and his country proud.

Yes, he made his mom proud; but forgot to thank her publicly when he went up to the
box after winning. Judy has to demand and get it. That was bad. How could he forget his mom?

I'm sure he made BOTH his mum and dad proud. His mum didn't need to be thanked in public. BTW she wasn't sitting in his box. She was sitting with people from the LTA. Andy probably couldn't have told you his own name in that moment. I think he can be forgiven for his momentary lapse.

I am willing to forgive him for his lapse. I do agree that given he was under euphoria,
he probably did not know what he should do and what he should not. But, I thought Judy
was sitting in his Box and just happened to be not there when Murray ran up (perhaps she
took a bath room break or something like that). Why the heck would she choose to sit
with LTA folks instead of in Andy's Box? I know she is a coach for LTA and is involved in
bringing up female players for LTA. But, still; This is Wimbledon final with Andy in it.

No, she was sitting in the seats behind his box. No idea why.
