Amateur footage synced with audio from one of their concerts at the Hollywood Bowl on August 29 1965.
Very good attempt here by Beatles diehard fans.

My understanding is that they couldn't even hear themselves sing during that concert.

That was what was said on "8 days a week" which is a good D.V.D. if you haven't seen it.

It is Lennon's 80th birthday. Also his son Sean turns 45 on 9 October. Recently Sean spent some time talking to Sir Paul McCartney and put together this wonderful tribute to his father's and the Beatles legacy. Great stuff here:

Available in four parts this is John Lennon DJ'ing in 1974. Cool to hear he was an Electric Light Orchestra fan and their record 'Showdown'. Good spontaneous stuff !

I think I read that Paul McCartney was uncomfortable when Yoko was around the recording studio. Now I understand why.

I think they were all uncomfortable with her presence but no one wanted to tell John to stop bringing her.

What’s your take on this @vince evert ?

It has often been said that they were, but have a look at some of the bootleg material that some fans have put up. This back when they were being filmed rehearsing the 'Get Back', 'Let it Be' songs and while the movie 'Let it Be' was made. To me , it looks like that she was silent observer and McCartney, Harrison and Starr either was ignoring her presence or Not at all bothered with her being present.

Interesting find. The origins of 'Strawberry Fields Forever' with it's original title 'It's Not That Bad'.
Lennon wrote the song in Almería, Spain in autumn 1966, while filming his role as Private Gripweed in the movie How I Won The War.

How interesting to hear such a stripped-down version of what turned out to be such a highly-produced song. I remember seeing an interview with George Martin (among others, I think) who described how difficult it was to record Strawberry Fields Forever. They carefully spliced tape from several takes which contained segments which weren’t even at the same tempo to come up with the final version.

It's a great song and a very unusual and interesting version, I really like seeing artists creative procedures...

Time to add some more gems... Nothing like 1960's music, as far as im concerned. The songs were (for the most part anyway) short and sweet , well structured and rhythmic.

This is from the album "A Hard Days Night" (released 1964)

I agree with the 1st 4 words of your sentence but my favourite Beatles song is "Let it be" especially as it has helped me a lot through hard times as had "The rose" by Bette Midler & "Keep right on to the end of the road" by Sir Harry Lauder. We can work it out is my 2nd favourite Beatles song. I really like seeing artists creative procedures too. You wouldn't like mine though as I only sing & song-write so once I've written songs I just play around with vocals working out what voice-tone & speed to sing my song to & where to put in word/line/note-holds & what genre my song should be. (I never got a chance to learn to play an instrument.) I had to learn & sing Beatles songs in the 1st couple of years in high school before I had to learn to write my own songs. I loved it.

George Harrison's famous ALL THINGS MUST PASS triple album set has just been released as a 50th anniversary remastered edition. To me, this was the best post-Beatles album by any of the four members.
