OMG! What a fun place that must've been! Yes I know CD(have had fights with him on MTF though I think we're ok now), TMF is a lovely guy ;). Don't know Alien though. I think the publishers' wife may have been responsible for the bans, that's sad though.

What an interesting story that is, you're like yoda, mate.:D
Hi monfed and @britbox :)
It's been a long time and it's nice to see you guys. Time pass by so fast.

We're one of the last surviving indie tennis forums outside MTF and TT. Nearly all have closed down with the onslaught of social media. The background to this board was that a large chunk of the original members came from the original tennis.com message boards after they got closed down... That was around 2012... tennis.com then brought in Livefyre commenting system to replace the old boards.

Tennis Forums are kind of Web 1.0 ... a bit of a relic in this day and age and we get it... but feel free to invite more people over.
It's not just tennis forums that are dying out but forums as a whole. I'm on a small science forum run by 1 staff member/admin where there's a nice family feel to it, we talk about lots of things, not just science which I've spoken about a couple of times in P.M. & browsed at basic relativity stuff there, there are 3 poetically minded people (myself included) who have good chats & offer feedback but there's not many people there & sometimes there's a lot of chat & sometimes there isn't, every now & then the staff member/admin talks about closing it/closes it & reopens it.

Does that mean I can invite more poetically minded people I know & some from the science forum I'm on over?

Permabanned from Twitter? What did you do? Shoot Kennedy?
Twitter is pretty lax with the enforcement of rules. I joined to talk to famous antique dealers & historians but ended up getting in with the equine-loving, art-loving, poetic crowd, scientists & authors too. I was encouraged to start writing again & shared my poems, short stories & songs as well as having interesting conversations mainly about history & horses. I was also invited to have a niume account which I opened but haven't written anything on it since I had p.c. problems & to join a few forums which I have. The reason I was invited to join forums is because I was told that people like my writing but twitter isn't really a good platform for sharing it due to the character limit. I also learnt how to copyright writing & got told to copyright my poems & short story which I did. I've now been advised to start a blog even to the point of being supplied a free link to a blog site which I've started. Back to the point I was making, I've seen the nasty side of twitter though. People get away with threatening others & calling people names as well as showing nasty images. I could come up with examples but won't bother.

I kinda liked CD though in many respects... .

I like Clay. He's been very nice to me & made me welcome & gave me some feedback on my writing. Will he ever come back here? Do you know?

And such a self-effacing revival of a thread that no one is interested in. Wow! And you're applauding yourself. You get mad at me for not supporting fellow Nadal fans. This would be an example of why. Not fellow Nadal fans...just you.

By coincidence, I feel the same about you. Did you not just revive your own fannish thread and compliment yourself? Maybe it's me, but I think that defines "boring."

I'm looking for the amazing posts you're talking about. There's nothing wrong with having pride in yourself but it should be balanced as in you need the right amount not too much or too little. Too much & you're arrogant & no one likes arrogant people & too little & you beat yourself up over the least thing or call yourself names which makes you feel bad about yourself, other people feel uncomfortable with you because they don't know what to say as you look like an attention-seeker even if you're not & you also look as if you're constantly seeking reassurance. People who've had confidence issues though tend to alternate between the arrogant & the self-loathing without the confident & assertive middle-ground. It's all about finding the happy medium. I think you come across as arrogant.

I actually think that it defines arrogant & attention-seeking.

Do you have to come up with personal comments when people offer constructive criticism? We're trying to help you get on with people better by showing you where you're going wrong. I'm not perfect. No one is. Everyone makes mistakes & has flaws & weaknesses. We learn from our mistakes, rectify them if possible & learn to either accept or strengthen our flaws & weaknesses.

I wish MTF took you back, their stupid PC rules have become worse now btw. I think you're out of your element here, isn't it? :lulz1:
