Great tournament for both finalists. I hope they continue playing well going into the FO. Disappointing to see Woz lose but she keeps improving so a major title is definitely a possibility. Wonderful to see a German win this event.

Congrats to both ladies for a productive week of tennis. Kerber shows that she still has some tennis left in her and that she can still win titles. Caro showed that she is still a work in progress and is not afraid to tinker with her game so that she can be even more successful. Let's hope that both ladies keep up their winning ways and continue to disrupt apple cart.

I'd have more sympathy for Woz is she hadn't lived this charmed career holding onto the #1 ranking for over a year w/o winning a major! That was kind of obscene IMO; for a few months fine with consistent play, but over a year? Women's tennis couldn't have been more weak with absences of many top players due to retirements, injuries, and other outside interests! Congrats to Kerber; a job well done! :clap

Just curious, I understand the injuries and retirements were factors in Caro attaining number one, but, outside interest part I don't get?
