I think it goes 3. And in that instance, I would give Caro a slight edge.

Well I see a straight shot for Kerber to the finals after seeing how she handled Sharapova and Makarova...

I agree with you. However, I also see a straight shot for Kerber's opponent (whoever that may be) in the finals.

Angelique KERBER (GER) vs Caroline WOZNIACKI (DEN) [4]

Kerber leads the head-to-head 5-4:

They've only played one other match on clay, and it was here, in 2012. Kerber won 6-1, 6-2. That was a long time ago, really, so I'm not going to read too much into it.

They most recently played in Cincinnati last year, and Caro won 7-5, 6-2.

This one will be tougher to call. Again I'm thinking 3 sets, but can't quite pick a winner. It'll be close, but I'll say Woz will outlast Kerbie in the decider.

Caro's court coverage is tantalizing, much more speed than Kerber. A couple of years ago I would never have imagined Caroline popping off 6 aces in one match, power and agility should help her immensely in the final against Angelique. Caroline in 3.

Great final - entertaining, and well played with some flaws in between. Caroline a little bit flat today and a fiercely playing Kerber made the difference. Congrats to both players for a great week. Congrats to Caroline for an excellent start of the clay season and congrats to Kerber for another claycourt win this year. Nice to see her back on top again. Here Kerber is in her new Porsche

I just watched it on DVR. It's a shame Caro lost -- she came so close when trying to serve it out, then saved a few championship points on Kerber's serve with terrific play -- but congrats to Kerber for closing it out.

Congrats to both ladies for a productive week of tennis. Kerber shows that she still has some tennis left in her and that she can still win titles. Caro showed that she is still a work in progress and is not afraid to tinker with her game so that she can be even more successful. Let's hope that both ladies keep up their winning ways and continue to disrupt apple cart.
