Defending champion ('11, '12) Serena Williams ('13 French Open champ) will not be there.

#2 Maria Sharapova pulled out with hip injury, #7 Marion Bartoli ('13 Wimbledon champ) pulls out with a hamstring sprain; who is the "favorite" now to win?

They just showed a picture with that pova girl practicing....I thought she was injured.

Maria is probably testing the hip; she has to ease her way back into form.

Personally speaking I do not think anything was the matter with her.

Her injury may not have been severe but Maria took several tumbles at Wimbledon; being cautious doesn't hurt.

Maybe Jankovic.

Jankovic isn't even entered (and never was), unless she gets a wildcard she won't be winning.

A. Radwanska
Stosur
Cibulkova
Cirstea
Lepchenko
Paszek
Goerges
U. Radwanska
Hampton
Wickmayer
Schiavone
Rybarikova
Niculescu
Morita
Voegele
Keys
Bertens
Hantuchova
McHale
Burdette

Aga is obviously the favourite now.

Stanford field is really poor now with the withdrawals. Only 2 players in the top 20. Stanford use to get a really strong field, but last year due to the Olympics, and now this year the fields have been really poor. A shame given it's a nice event which normally attracts good crowds.

Stosur is good on hard courts.

That's true. Do you think she has a better chance than Aga?
Stosur is better on hard courts than Aga...the problem with Stosur is her mental game and Aga defends defends and can drive players crazy

Stosur's form is abysmal. She's #23 in the race compared to her #13 ranking. Her form suggests she won't even get far enough to meet Aga in the final.

Aga will probably win. Can Cirstea go deep here? I am cheering for Hampton.

Sorry, thought JJ was playing. In that case you'd have to put money on Aga.

Someone mentioned Cirstea. She has points to defend from last year. I believe she made the QF last year.

Chelsia: I think this is a great opportunity for Madison

and some of the other young Americans.

Also wonder why Sloane isn't playing. If she wants to be taken

seriously she has to get a title under her belt

Does anyone know when Sloane is playing again?
dont really care for Sloane:nonoshe is a very boring player like Chanda Rubin.I think Townsend and Duval are more exciting..hopefully Keys doesnt become another Lolo Jones.

The favorite her is Aggie. I'll be surprised if she lost.
Hampton got the #4 seed?
Good for her, she gets first round bye, must be first for her.
