Wow, I can see most people hold a grudge against Sloane even if Serena has moved on in life. Sloane has played smaller tournaments like Hobart, Charleston, New Haven. She just hasn't gotten anywhere which needs to change. She says she is playing 4 tournaments to try and get into the top 10, so she has big goals. Let's see if she can execute and achieve them. I would say she needs to win a tournament this year to try and start her 2014 campaign on a great note.

The way Serena was hitting those powerful cc forehands, I doubt she has moved on  She let her racquet do the talking!! And yes, I can hold a grudge ;)
yes..Serena is gushing too much and that tells me its not over with her and she will revenge ova and ova.
Richard once said it takes Serena a while to get over these kind of situations..so Sloane is due for more beatings:snigger

DJ,
Serena hits those CC FH when she plays Venus too.

Not like that. She was trying to take Sloane's head off (almost did too) lol.

To me, she always hits those FH like that. I don't think it matter who she plays. That being said, I'm sure there is extra conviction when she's playing someone she's lost to or Maria.

Fellow American Jamie Hampton probably had the best response. Asked what she thought of the Stephens-Williams rivalry, Hampton delivered a forehand to the media. "Not as much as you guys," she said.

"It's tough, but everyone has their time to shine," Sloane said. "I think she's obviously No. 1 in the world for a reason. She's earned every opportunity she's gotten. I think she makes the most out of every time she's on the court. Maybe one day when she's not playing, people would be, 'Maybe I wish I wasn't on the same side as Sloane.' Things happen in their time."

Stephens told reporters late on Sunday that she would watch this match again after the conclusion of the year. What she will find is a young player not too far away from challenging Williams. Her time is surely coming, but Serena's time is now.
