its just an observation...dont really care about their politics.I enjoyed Instabul because the fans were very happy to see the players...every player and they cheered loudly for everybody with a lot of joy.sk310 said:tossip said:Instabul was like a festival and organic, this crowd seems like a bit controlled ...they are being told to applaud and doesnt seem to know when to cheer .They were applauding Caro s errors yesterday until Asderaki said something.fashionista said:Just a general question for all posters,
What do you think of the crowds and atmosphere at Singapore compared to Istanbul for the YEC?
Or do you think it is too early to make a comparison?
Lol that's funny you say that. Do you know much about the political climate of Singapore? It's a SUPER strict society. It's very successful economically but there is a lot of big brother type control over the people. There's a lot of social restrictions and you're not really allowed to speak against the government. That's probably why the crowd seems controlled.
Genie has to cut down the errors, she can't compete in the top 8 making more mistakes than winners, everyone doing that is losing.fashionista said:Ivanovic d Bouchard 61 63
Stats for the match
Bouchard 20/31 Ivanovic 20/18
fashionista said:Oh Please waiting for Serena to be defeated?
Please see my post in regards to Serena at YEC level
She has the second most winning streak at YEC level in the History of the game
Martina Navratilova presently leads.

Okay you got me there....

in the scheme of things this is a meaningless win if she doesnt win the whole thing...she will join a pile of players who won against Serena and lost the next match...She will join Cornet,Cepelova,Muguruza and Ana who failed to capitalize on their wins.Halep better win a slam before she starts thinking she is this bigtime player..:eyepopfashionista said:Noone can take away from how well Halep played against Serena
Serena was just ugly in all facets of her game
Players do have Bad Days at the office. It happens to even the Greatest of players
Serena losing to Halep 60 62 is the worst loss since 1998,at Oklahama City, where Jannette Kruger defeated Serena 61 61.
I will be interested to watch a Halep v Serena in their next match up,I hope Halep gains confidence with this win, next time they meet.

As I did say in my post,I hope Simona gains confidence in her future matches with Serena
Jury is still out on that question I poised,it still remains to be seen if Simona can defeat Serena in their future match ups.Serena is the bench mark at Singapore her outstanding streak for instance, though in saying that,Simona did break that winning streak.
hopefully she wont t...k her match to let Ivanovic through...I wish she doesnt join a long list of players that beat Venus and Serena and never do anything else after. If Serena is knocked out and she goes to the semis, she must make this win count and win the whole thing beating all the other girls...Kvitova is another player that can let pova through because she idolizes pova.sk310 said:fashionista said:tossip said:in the scheme of things this is a meaningless win if she doesnt win the whole thing...she will join a pile of players who won against Serena and lost the next match...She will join Cornet,Cepelova,Muguruza and Ana who failed to capitalize on their wins.Halep better win a slam before she starts thinking she is this bigtime player..:eyepopfashionista said:Noone can take away from how well Halep played against Serena

I think in the grand scheme of Halep's trajectory it matters a lot. It seemed to me she kind of lost some confidence around the time she lost at Wimbledon. To have 2 such decisive wins here shows me her confidence is back to grind out (or flat out kill) any match she plays.

Not that it is any of your business but I was away the whole day yesterday and missed the Masha match - I have however congratulated and complemented Caroline today
