Serena is serving at 52%, including 7 double faults.

EDIT: After a series of errors from Halep, Serena wins her first game.

This is why you can never under estimate your group. I had a feeling we were going to get a crappy Serena. Hopefully, she can turn this around with number 1 on the line.

I tuned in during my vacation for this? :snigger While I expected Simona to give her a match, I would at least like to see some rallies. Going back to slumber.

Ouch, unless Halep has some implosion between now and two games what an embarrassing display by Serena.

The diesel is warming up but Halep is playing really well - Serena acting like a counter puncher just to get some points but Serena is now down 14 in second set - double break. Well done Halep proud to be an ambassador:cool:

Now Serena has the back against the wall behind 15 in second set:exclamation::exclamation:

Serena is not punishing that 2nd serve enough there is no reason for second serve return points won to be lower than the first serve return points won especially with Halep's second serve. Terrible job Serena.

This is particularly poor for Serena considering the nature of the tournament, in which games and sets won also count.

Absolutely embarrassing display from Serena, great job by Halep. This might be the breakthrough she needs to beat players like Masha too since Serena was the only one she thought she could never beat.

Serena Williams’ 6-0, 6-2 loss to Simona Halep is her worst loss since 1998 Oklahoma City (61 61 l. to Joannette Kruger)

I can't believe I woke up to watch that crap. I expected it to be tough for Serena, but I didn't expect that crapfest. Simona did a good job of playing her game. Serena better find her game and bring it against Bouchard.

OMAGAWD!!!!
What a great victory for Simona Halep defeating Serena Williams 60, 62 - A humiliating loss for Serena and a reminder for some of the fanatic Serena fans never to sell the bear's skin before one has killed the beast

Masha's loss yesterday pales in comparison to Serena's - I can't wait to read all the excuses from the Serena fanatics here - viral illness? - knee injury? - what this time?

Even after witnessing that train wreck of a performance, I still think Serena will beat Bouchard in straight sets.
