It looks like all deals are off and there will be a hearing by a tribunal. This is not a confirmed news and just a rumor. The president of the Russian tennis federation, himself a banned guy (over Williams brothers fiasco), says the hearings in the Sharapova case are likely to be in june.

Shamil broke the story on 30th March. But, the official announcement has not yet come. If it does not come by Monday or Tuesday of this week, we got to assume that Shamil was talking off the hat. :puzzled

Pocket Rocket says, Dominatrix is arrogant, conceited and cold and most other players also think that is the case.
I think the previous WTA higher ups were protecting her for years and then this new boss came in and probably didnt get the memo...then everything came out....#speculation
pova won Wimbledon when Larry Scott was just coming in and he blatantly favored pova from easy draws and favorable scheduling, then his deputy came in and continued to favor her so for years she had immunity she was their pet ...this new WTA boss probably refused to protect her...:popcorn

Maria was an absolute dream for the image of women's tennis, a beautiful tall elegant blonde who could play good tennis at times. I suppose she's getting on a bit now, so they might be looking for someone else.

She's not beautiful and never was for the reasons tossip stated above. And her skin is like a pizza without make up. There are far, far prettier girls on the WTA tour without shoulders like a bodybuilder.

I thought it was a truth universally accepted that Sharapova was beautiful. Everyone on the tv said so when she won Wimbledon in 2004. No-one said she was ugly.

They don't get out much I guess 'cos she's not beautiful. Here's an attractive Maria for you though. Maria Kirilenko. Much hotter than that other yoke.

This is weird. That Russian dude talked about hearings about a week ago. So, I thought official announcement will come in a day or two. Now, a full week is gone by and we have not heard of any official news.

I am thinking that they are trying their best to figure out the best way to spin this to the media whatever the result is.

everybody is waiting for WADA s decision and they better not show bias because everybody charged with that drug will also demand leniency...I am thinking two years is sufficient punishment.
pova should consider having a second career...because there is no hope for leniency....no sugarpova at the Olympics and who is going to buy her candy..no parent will buy that crap from a doper.

Here is an opinion piece by Daniel Cox. He believes, it is probably the right time now for Maria to come out in the open and admit that she took Meldonium for performance enhancement and not for diabetes/magnesium deficiency/heart issues.

Generally speaking, people admit the truth bit by bit hoping to contain it. But, generally speaking it is lot better to come out in one stroke and tell the whole story correctly once and for all.

She could only get sympathy if she says someone else suggested it or pressured her into taking it as a PED, saying all her opponents were taking something and she needed it to compete with them and then she was pressured into
continuing to take it or she became addicted to it. She would have to portray herself as somewhat of a victim.

Well these things have to be measured carefully because if they aren't lawsuits can happen, and I doubt an organization like WADA that is supposed to be coming down hard on users wants the shoe reversed.
