If she carries the flag she should be made to walk around the stadium with the flagpole stuck where the sun don't shine. The players who can't stand her (ie most/all of them) will be disgusted to see her back and playing their hearts out to beat her. She'll be booed everywhere and made to feel unwelcome by many so hopefully even when she returns it'll seem like she's banned anyway. Despite WADA's statement, Maria still in trouble due to her own statement that she made during the damage control press conference. Since she publicly admitted using Meldonium even after 1st Jan 2016, how long Meldonium remains in the system is not relevant in her situation.

This is really ironic considering that the damage control operation is the one that is going to aggravate her situation now. :devil

It seems Pova was harmed and helped by so many dopers being caught along with her. Harmed because her claims to need the drug to address various health issues have clearly been proven to be a lie. Helped because the army of desperate athletes who have nothing to lose lied and screamed so loudly that WADA had to back off.

I would not be surprised if Pova got off the hook. It would be a grave injustice to the sport and especially the opponents she beat throughout her career. If she had any conscience, I would say she is paying the price for cheating, but she obviously doesn't so she will go on her merry way, and continue to irritate tennis fans with her shrieks, candy-pushing, back-turning, play-delaying tactics. I look forward to her retirement.

Dopapova has to be penalize otherwise what kind of message are they sending to the players. Martina only smoke coke and she was band for 2yrs and that's not even a PED. I just cannot imagine if this had been Serena what it would be like. They would still be writing articles about it and dragging her name through the mud, here it is and you don't see crap about that heffa, that is why I cannot stand her guts. For a long time, I resented the fact that Pova made all her millions in the US and yet retained her Russian citizenship. In hindsight, I am glad she didn't become an American. We don't need athletes like her representing us in the Olympics or elsewhere.

did you notice how the Americans like JAMES Blake,Madison Keyes,Jamie Hampton and Ryan Harrison all ran to her defence without waiting for the full report...just wonder if It was Serena ,would they run to her defence like that...that goes to show where their alligiance lies...remember how Harrison was critical of Serena after that incident at the Open but was quick to defend pova..

Hampton had the audacity to say she likes pova because she is professional....yes at doping for ten years.
