Alexander Zverev Defeats (8) Marin Cilic 36 63 62
Excellent win for Sascha yesterday. Maturing all the time. Should break into the Top 20 this week coming. ^ Love the shot above, pick that baby out!
Zverev is awesome! He's still a frigging baby on tour and hasn't even filled out yet. I think this is our winner. He's got everything, skills, courage, hunger and desire. Oh, and he's consistent. Looking forward to following his meteoric rise.

3-Stanislas Wawrinka (Switzerland) beat Kyle Edmund (Britain) 6-3 6-4
Good win for Troicki. Rafa didn't play as horribly as he has in the recent past, but his performance was a bit lackluster. One of the best matches I've seen Victor play in a while.
Mischa Zverev (Germany) beat 12-Nick Kyrgios (Australia) 6-3 6-1
Nick's Jekyll and Hyde character comes to the fore again. Loses to Sascha Zverev's older (journeyman) brother in straight routine sets.
Kyrgios quits on a point or two...

and ends up getting booed off court...

Said he couldn't care less and was "bored" during his first round match with Querrey.
I know. I came in late and saw Zverev's name and assumed it was Alexander. I don't know what's up with Nick. Maybe he really doesn't want to play tennis; he sure acts like it.
I'm a huge fan... of the younger crop breaking through, I like him and Thiem... very different players and like them for different reasons... kind of why I liked Safin and Federer's games.... but this kid is definitely for real... and a future #1 IMO.
Troicki has pushed him close a couple of times in the past... He had match points a few years ago.
Strange thing with Nick... he had a relaxed Tokyo where the media spotlight wasn't really on and won the tournament... as soon as the attention focuses on him at a bigger tournament, he seems to go into his Hyde mode... very complex character... hard to figure... seems to self-sabotage.
I understand when a player is in decline losing more or not winning so often but Rafa is losing constantly and against anyone. I don't take anything to Troicki and his excellent serve but come on, Rafa in good conditions wouldn't have lost that match and the matches before (Beijing).
His words after the match: "I think this season almost has finished to me, I need to talk with my team if I should stop to play for awhile and just trining much better" . I think he really needs a Psychologist urgent like others players also have done! o_O I've never seen him so helpless than now, pity!
Maybe he has said that under a big frustration at that moment but you can tell that he is more disappointed than everWow, that doesn't sound good.
Nice win for Sascha Zverev over Isner.
