Poor Mayer - he's crying. He really deserved that match, played better overall I think.

No one even realized that lob was in at first, except Mayer.

Mayer is balling like someone stole his candy and Fed is jumping up and down like he found said candy.

Definitely a rabbit out of the hat.

Wow, Roger had 18 more unforced errors.

I saw the last two points--sweet lob by Roger after great defense running to FH side to dig out a shot. This has to feel pretty good as I can't recall the last time Fed came back after four or five MPs against him. Anybody know?

So Leonardo Mayer is 27 and had his highest year-end ranking in 2012 at #71, yet is now ranked #24. What an interesting late breakthrough. He looked like a top 20 player today.

You've got to wonder about recovery time after a slugger of a match like that. Roger plays again tomorrow...

Poor Isner and Poor Raonic, they were dreaming of beating Rafa when he is down.
They just cannot (as Lopez already did the job).

I tell you.. the old rules have been thrown out now. Pros are coming into their own now after 25.. It's amazing to see. If we see a teenager win a slam in the next 10yrs, they'll be a different breed

Didn't watch any of the matches today but good job, Roger and hard luck to Wafa. Watched pavlik's clip and the last few points by Lopez were a far cry from his normal choker self. Lovely s&v match point that no one was going to return. Just saw on tennis.com that Roger saved 5 match points so it's good to see a much more determined drive from him this year. Until recently in that position he'd have lost for sure.

Poor Mayer looked like he was gonna cry his eyes out there when that lob went over his head.
