DelBoner is boring imo but would've liked to have seen Coric in the draw.

Coric is still very young, you are expecting too much from these teenagers. The Becker era will not return.

Also people were expecting too much from him. That win over Roger was a one of. Del Bonis has settled now into an average top 50-100 player. He may have a second wing later in his twenties as is the norm these days.

in R1, Matteo Donati (20y, ranked 275) downs Giraldo. I looked up his photo, he looks like a young Tim Henman

I heard that Murray hinted at maybe skipping Rome. Any news on that?

Read that he will make a decision upon arrival to Rome.

I thought it would be wiser to make a decision regarding going to Rome before going to Rome :snicker
Maybe he will go there as a tourist. You can do a lot worse than Rome...:)

Good win for Ilhan over Mannarino:
6-4, 6-1.
He earned himself an encounter with Nadal in R2

:lolz: That's funny.

I think they occasionally do this to fulfill contractual obligations related to promoting the tournament in the midst of a late withdrawal, which is why we've seen others show up at tournaments, then promptly announce they're not playing.

Yes, unlike Fed or Novak, Murray has not yet earned a right to skip a Mandatory Masters Tourney without a legitimate reason like injury. But, I still think Murray will play. He may not take it very seriously and might want to as deep as possible without really exerting himself too much.

Roger gets Pablo Cuevas for his opening match. This is a repeat of Istanbul final. Folks might recall that Fed had tough time closing out the second set there.

And let me guess: Murray gets Kohlschreiber? ;)
