Saw the last four games of Djokovic's match. He looked okay, onwards to play Nishi tomorrow. Let's see how that goes.

I hope Federer beats Berdych. I am actually kind of curious to see how the Fedal match would pan out.

I can send you in detail how it will pan out but it is a bit x-rated, so if you wish, I will send you a PM?;)

If Nadal gets the yips it might look like two girls and one cup?

I think the same way. I think Roger would be the perfect player for Rafa to face now - as you know - but Rafa facing Stan for the first time since Oz 2014 is bound to have a bit of reverb to it. No question that these pair will remember, and Stan isn't too bad on clay either. So if he faces the two Swiss and wins, I think it's a great sign for Rafa.

I didn't see Nole but it sounded like the story of the Young Bull and the Old Bull. Nole carries a lot of nous. But Nishi will be a different calibre. Interesting matches....

Stan is not bad on clay, but he can't play Nadal very well on clay. Nadal will toy with him.

Bird-Roger is a huge test for Roger. Bird has been steady, Roger has not. Can he hang with Bird from the back of the court when he needs to? I am not too sure...

Berdych has been really playing well this season. Number 3 in the ytd rankings. I guess Berdy will win, which is ok as I like him more than Federer. But somehow the Fedal match intrigues me.

Got feeling Novak didnt want to enter gunbattle with Tomaz, he was putting as much to keep with him, like to be in Eco drive, knowing opponent will run out of gas soon. This tactic is giving him better in "long run". Tomas couldnt not keep that level, he got burned up.

Yeah, this was quite obvious. I was just wondering when his level would drop. Novak just outlasted him, without doing anything particularly special. I doubt this will be the case with Nishi and he wil have all kinds of trouble if he plays like this.

Nishi has some longer run now, he migth be tired, while Djoker just get rid of rust. If too much troubled, woldnt be surprised if Djoker tank the match.

I only hope Samurai can make things interesting. Their US Open clash was very entertaining, and there is no reason why Nishi couldn't pull together another performance like that.

Don't get me wrong, I think Berdy might be some opposition now for Nadal, and other players too. But not Stan.

5 a.m. and time to check the results. Federer won. ok.....Djokovic..dropped the first set?! What the....still won. ok.......Berdych wins a third set TB against F3...good, good....Wawrinka's still in there. Bit of a surprise there... Ferrer My Ferrer into the QFs...yes, yes.

So we got Novak vs. Kei. Should be a good one. Maybe a FO Final Preview?
Ferrer vs. Goffin. A match for us little guys.
Stan vs. Nadal. Maybe Stan can subdue Nadal with one of his outfits.
Federer vs. Berdych. What an opportunity for The Birdman. How much will I bet on him to win? Absolutely nothing.

Predictions:
Djokovic vs. Ferrer My Ferrer
Nadal vs. Berdych

Novak is the "hunted" these days. Players know they have to redline a whole match to beat him, and it seems to take the pressure off them. You're right Mile, he did enough to win, but he was pushed pretty hard. I doubt he will tank against Nishi. Viktor was out there probing this evening and was having some success, I'm sure he will share his thoughts with his friend.

Looking forward to this one.

Just noticed that Sock and Kyrgios are teamed up in the doubles and they are into the QFs. Interesting pair. Seems like a chain reaction of some sort could happen with these two on the same side of the court. Would really be fun to see them team up and take the FO title. Popsicle better hurry back from his injury or he could be replaced.

Less drama this time and Roger closes it out. He totally lost the script for 20 minutes but the first set and a bit was solid from him.

Geez, the last time I looked he was up 5-2, 40-15. Then I had to meet someone, and assumed when I got back, the final score would be 6-3, 6-2. But 7-5?

Federer has "timing issues" these days. He thinks he has won the match well before he actually wins the match.

...strange. I had a very good impression from the highlights of the first Federer match, and a VERY bad one from the second. He better turn it around again if he wants to make it a match...

A lot of really interesting matches tomorrow. Djokovic v. Nishikori will be the one to watch. And the grudge match of Nadal v. Wawrinka. Even Fed v. Berdy always provides stress, if not actual drama. I'm curious about the undercard Ferrer v. Goffin.

Yeah, it has the potential to be quite a day. Nishikori may give Novak a bit of trouble, but I think Novak will win, probably in straights. If this were any surface other than clay, I'd give Berdych a decent chance, but I think Roger will prevail. Nadal/Wawrinka: this will be a big psychological test for Rafa.

(The Sharapova/Azarenka match could also be a good one.)

I agree that Novak should win, though I'd predict 3 sets, given that Bellucci got 3. And Roger I'd say, in 2, if he doesn't go walkabout. Rafa should totally get Wawrinka, but I will be wearing my lucky shirt. Rafa can't go Hamlet Nadal. He needs to serve like he did today against Isner, and pass the same way. Not a hint of timidity, and that will get the job done.

If Rafa plays well I don't see that he would have to much trouble to beat Wawrinka. That unlucky AO is story and the only time that Rafa lost against him playing in any surface
I would say Novak will have more work to win and if Berdych plays well then Roger will have a hard time[/i]
