It's actually Djokovic's easiest match of the week.

Congrats to Novak! :clap :celeb:

Can there be any doubt he's the clear favorite heading into Paris?

After a week of terrible forehands it's only fitting to end with a terrible forehand error. Well played by Novak but that was far from Roger's best sadly.

Very poor play from Roger today... completely went off the rails that 2nd set.

Ajde Nole. Well done. Fourth Masters win - this year.

Roger definitely played well in the first set and in particular served well in the first set.
But, Novak was too good. The 2nd set is a different story though.

He has a really good shot at getting six this year. I would guess he retires with most masters trophies ever. Not small potatoes.

Yeah, thinking the same about most masters trophies. Roger should have his chances at Cincy and Shanghai later in the year too hopefully. It's one thing beating the guys he played before today, but it's very tough to beat a world number one in his prime and over 6 years younger on clay. It really would be a big upset at this point. The faster surfaces not so much of an upset as the commentators tend to make out. Roger can still hold his own on the faster surfaces but getting run ragged left and right is doing him no favours at this point and it doesn't happen to half the extent on grass or hard courts where he can end points way quicker.

I really thought this would be close. Roger dismantled Stan and was hitting so well off his backhand side this week. He just unraveled after Nole held for 5-4.
