faker will streamroll Fred, it will be horrible to watch

I'm not convinced "Fred" will make the finals over Coric. I really think Borna has a LOT of game, just lacks consistency like all the other younglings. May seem like an overstatement but beating him would be Roger's most impressive win since Stuttgart sad to say.

Coric looked like he might beat Roger in the SFs at IW, so he should take some confidence from that run at him. I don't have much faith that Sasha will take out Novak, sadly.

Coric beat Fed at Halle, he will take confidence from that. Djoker will probably handle Zverev. Why all the rooting against Novak? Haven't you been on us for not rooting against rivals?

I agree, Chorich is one annoying dogged bastard. It'll be a dogfight tomorrow and Fed better come out firing or he'll be back hiking in the Swiss mountains.

While I think it's unseemly to simply root against rivals for no reason, we're talking about the YE#1. That should seem clear.

I know, I just like mentioning that you used to get worked up over our desire to see certain people fail :)

I hope Djokovic wins tomorrow regardless of Fed's match. If Roger loses tomorrow hopefully Nole wins the tournament and if Fed wins tomorrow it's as good a surface as he can hope for vs Nole though I wouldn't expect him to suddenly play great and win that match.

It's one thing to hope for players to fail, in all circumstances, and another to be concerned about how they work out in points, with the YE#1 in jeopardy. For obvious reasons, you hope Djokovic wins tomorrow. For obvious reasons, you always hope Djokovic wins, except against Roger. B-)

Fed will beat Coric. Coric cannot pull a surprise again. I do remember that Coric beat Fed at Halle. More importantly, I am sure Fed remembers it and so will not take Coric lightly. I doubt Coric has what it takes to beat Fed twice in the same year.

I wish Djoker-Federer final. Probably Shanghai owner wish too. Better for watching than Zverev-Coric.

It's a sad state of affairs when the next-gens get crushed by the three Amigos. Djokovic downed Zverev 6-2,6-1. I doubt Coric will fare any better against Fed.

Tennis is a funny game sometimes. Having watched Coric a bunch this year I can't think of a reason he shouldn't be ranked considerably higher, he impresses me way more than Zverev. Obviously it's a consistency issue but what's weird about it is that he is rock solid from the baseline when he's playing well.

Cmon we've had this convo before. He's like KA (a consummate choke artist).

You're more right than Moxie! Someone had to be wrong! Coric is ripping his serve and the groundstrokes! Federer's not making errors on his own; being forced by the MPH of Coric's offerings! He's making Federer hit a lot of backhands which is still impressive, but it's not hurting Borna! He's up a set and has a break early in the 2nd! :yesyes:  :ptennis:

Roger seems to be going through the motions. I am hoping that he is just tired. Many of his routine shots can hardly clear the net. He makes Coric look like a superstar.

This crowd is in shock. Can't believe what they are witnessing so far.
