The Tournament:
The Paris Masters (formerly known as the Paris Open, and currently called the Rolex Paris Masters for sponsorship reasons) is an annual tennis tournament for male professional players held in Paris, France. It is played indoors at the AccorHotels Arena, in the neighborhood of Bercy, and is held in early November. The event is part of the Masters 1000 series on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour.

The tournament evolved from the French Covered Court Championships. Beginning with the Open Era, it was held at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin until 1982. In 1989 it was upgraded to the Grand Prix Tour (Grand Prix Super Series). The event is usually the final tournament on the calendar before the season-ending ATP Finals. For sponsorship reasons, the event was officially known from 2003 to 2016 as BNP Paribas Masters, and from 2017 has been called the Rolex Paris Masters. It is also referred to as the Paris Indoor event and as Bercy to distinguish it from the other significant tennis tournanent held in Paris, the French Open, which is held outdoors in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.

About Paris:

Paris is the capital and largest city of France. With an official estimated population of 2,102,650 residents in January 2023 in an area of more than 105 km2 (41 sq mi), Paris is the fourth-largest city in the European Union and the 30th most densely populated city in the world in 2022. Since the 17th century, Paris has been one of the world's major centres of finance, diplomacy, commerce, culture, fashion, and gastronomy. For its leading role in the arts and sciences, as well as its early and extensive system of street lighting, in the 19th century, it became known as the City of Light.

The City of Paris is the centre of the Île-de-France region, or Paris Region, with an official estimated population of 12,271,794 inhabitants in January 2023, or about 19% of the population of France. The Paris Region had a GDP of €765 billion (US$1.064 trillion, PPP) in 2021, the highest in the European Union. According to the Economist Intelligence Unit Worldwide Cost of Living Survey, in 2022, Paris was the city with the ninth-highest cost of living in the world.

On serious note, though, I know Paris is a bit of a wildcard, but still. As of this moment, based on the last year but especially last few months, it is hard imagining someone other than Sincaraz winning anything big.

And here comes Holger!

Holger has made the QFs at Basel where he will play LL Gofin, he does have a chance of making the final, so far in 2024, his form has been disappointing, he did win Paris Masters in 2022, he hasnt been able to replicate that form in 2024.

This is a 'fun fact' in the last 3 years there have been 4 unseeded Masters 1000 champions, Carreno Busta, Coric, Rune and Popyrin

This year it will be....

ARTHUR FILS. I feel it.
Rune played a great match today to make the SFs in Basel, he will play Perricard, Fils v Shelton is the other SF
BTW officially the player with the most points at ATP500 level in 2024 was Fils, he just won a $615,000 bonus not bad

Looks to be a brutal affair even w/o Novak! No way could he depend on upsets, late season weariness of opponents, or him getting on a "heater" & beat back "the young guns!" I think he's won enough in Bercy & Paris not needing to prove anything! His last comments to the media implied he was done for the season! Is he skipping the YEC? Does he even qualify? :astonished-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::angry-face::fearful-face::zippermouthface:

Flavio Cobolli withdrew ( shoulder injury) and wont play Richard Gasquet, in Richards last year in Bercy.
As Mensik didnt sign in for LL, should be Zizou Bergs to play Gasquet tomorrow on Centre Court.Confirmed Bergs LL to play Gasquet tomorrow

Surprising result to end the night session, as WC Mannarino defeats Paul (11) 63 75., it has been a rough 2024 for Mannarino but he was 'on' tonight in front on a home crowd.
