If Ralph loses today to Shapo and Novak wins in the final, Ralph's lead in the race will be cut down by 50% from the current 1280 to 640.

When I posted the above message, I did not even know that Ralph withdrew. That is a bummer.

Nadal is officially the unluckiest player in the history of tennis. Endless injuries, Djokovic and Federer should have led him by 10 slams each by now! Yet Nadal is so great that even as a part-time player he will pass both. Hopefully Shapovalov can save tennis in the final. Will he be consistant enough? I doubt it. :negative:

Nadal should be thankful that he is the most physically gifted player the game has ever seen. Most of his titles are due to his physical prowess, not his tennis. Federer and Djokovic are way more talented than him.

Assuming Novak wins Bercy, here are the scenarios for #1 at the WTF.

1. If Rafa wins WTF, Rafa ends as YE #1.

2. If Rafa reches finals (after winning two RR matches and winning SF), only way Novak can get
#1 is by winning all the matches he plays in WTF. No room for error.

3. If Rafa wins two RR matches, but does not reach the finals or if he reaches the finals despite
winning only 1 RR match but managing to win SF, then only way Novak can get #1 is by
winning WTF. But, he has room for error. He can afford to lose one RR match
(but cannot lose two RR matches).

4. if Rafa manages to win only one RR match and does not reach the finals, then Novak should
either win the WTF or reach the finals after winning all his RR matches.

5. If Rafa drops out of WTF, Novak should either reach the finals after winning at least two RR matches
or else simply win the event.

Oh please, stfu. LOL. Nadal should have lost on dozens of occasions to Federer and Djokovic that he didn't.

Amazing how Nadal's injuries always come during the indoor season and hardly ever during the clay season. These pullouts never seem to happen at Monte Carlo or Madrid or Rome.

The only moron here is you who abuses me in 3rd person. But it's true what that dulltard said - Hope Dennis can save tennis from another tennis evil.

Well he clearly connives. But his fanbase constantly denies it. They always assume the most pure and virtuous motives on his part.

They're a cult who know nothing about tennis but keep arguing endlessly with Fed fans instead of LEARNING the game with some humility.
