Nole definitely was hoarse yesterday! Not as bad today, but something's still lingering there! I can only hope he can get past Perseus who's on top of his game! If not I won't begrudge the kid and hope he goes on to do well and maybe win! :yesyes:  :ptennis:

Stop preparing excuses in case Djokovic loses. :cuckoo::facepalm:

to win QF matches.
"I pick Baby, Tits, Clown and Bull."

Why does anyone have to deconstruct that? They have names. It get Tits (however much I may not like it as a nickname, and not for the reasons anyone would think,) and Bull is obvious. There are rather more than a few players that get called "clown" around here and I have no idea who baby is. I've had a long, hard day. Do I have to go the the ATP website or the livescores to figure out WTF you're talking about? Apparently so. I hate the nicknames, particularly when they're random and not in regular parlance. I'm going to @mrzz's Hate Thread.

EDIT: Which one is the "baby": young Garin, or the one who never gets called "baby Fed" anymore? Which one is the "clown"? Monfils or Shapo, because both qualify. And you're picking Tsitsipas over Djokovic? Interesting.

Sorry, is the one who is unwell Novak or Rafa? I'm trying to go back through the thread. Couldn't watch tennis today.
Novak has something flu-like, is hoarse. Nadal called the doctor to get meds for stomach problems. I hope it’s nothing serious.

The Chardy/Garin match:

”No, no! One sees such matches, and what can one say but... 'Chardy.' “

Channeling Amadeus.....B-)

Upthread he did imply that Novak was unwell. Thus my confusion.
He is definitely ill, but not dramatic. Nadal definitely took meds once in his match against The Swiss, looks like antacidum.

No excuses, but he is not 100%. Even you could hear it in interview if you want.
If he didn’t manage to beat that pussy, he deserves to go home!
In that case Nadal gets the title for sure.

This match is the most secure looking at the outcome, if odds are not that low you could bet whatever you want on Nadal! No chance for grandpa Tsonga.

Baby=Grigor, Clown=Monfed I mean Monfils, the other two are obvious.

He hadn't even taken a set off of him when Rafa's back went and Stan went on to win his first Major. And the H2H is now 19-3. I don't think there is a strong argument that Stan "has the game" to beat either Roger or Rafa.

As much as I love Stan’s 1h BH, it’s a bad matchup when playing Rafa for the same reasons of most onehanders. Stan can’t really hit thru or redirect consistently , especially on the ad serve wide.

Agree. Maestro is a rare exception.
