Spare me! Rafa is just a broken down POS that plays when he wants; usually on clay! That's not Nole's problem! He's #1 because he earned it! Get over it and yourself!  :banghead: :cuckoo:
You're mistaking Rafa for someone who skips whole parts of the calendar willfully. But why be such an old bitch about it, anyway? You don't really like this "old guard," though you never stop nattering on about the ancients. But they're actual greats, and still holding up better than their end of the bargain. You'll be sorry when there are no giants playing, only minions hoovering up the hardware because they're all we've got left.

Nadal played only 9 tournaments and Djokovic played 14 tournaments. If Nadal was healthier getting to the number one ranking would be a much more difficult journey for Djokovic.
And who's fault is that? Despite looking like a poster child for fitness magazines, Rafa is as fragile as glass, getting injured left and right. He should get fitter, obviously.

I was calculating some, not sure, but if Fed wins here he adds 400 pts, and with Novaks bad luck in London and Fed win Nole might lose No.1 to Fed. Hypothetical.

What i dont like at these injuries, or "injuries", it might take some value of it. I remember when Djoker was winning some 41 continuous matches, then there was walkover over Fed i think, and also one player was injured, so he just skipped to be with most continuous wins. Then he lost by Fed in RG.

In Nadal case, i would get rest, skip London. That terrain isn't his good spot neither. So more calculating GS, like Fed, and probably Djoker might start this method as well.

Uhh, no. Novak got the #1 by winning the last two Slams and last two Masters. He is fully deserving.
It doesn’t matter, you never know if Nadal wouldn’t have had the knee injury in the USO if Novak would have won , same like now that he can’t play, big advantage for Novak to get that number. By the way this tournament looks like a Hospital and very easy pass for someones, who will be next? B-)

I'm so glad Isner is gone! Getting into long serving contests are so boring; TB after TB! Khachanov withstood the onslaught, bad calls, and looking at John carry his weary body around the court! With WD's from the YEC, Isner might still make it in; at least as the 1st Alternate!

With Isner's loss the field is set for WTF. Cilic, Thiem and Kei qualify in addition to those already qualified (Big three, Sasha and Kandy).

I'd like to know if Fog will finish playing the match, I doubt it

Interesting to note that all the GS winners and all the GS finalists qualified for the WTF (even though JMDP had to withdraw from it).

The finalists for a change of pace backed up their upsets to get to those final MAJORS! Anderson, Cilic, & Thiem have been quite impressive outside of the MAJORS! Sascha's the only one disappointing us all; probably even Lendl who's trying to help this headcase! I think he has to build his mind and body; not sure physically he's able to stand against the big boys! He's so very lanky and thin! Nole's rail thin as well, but he's an older guy & we know he has the power & stamina to go toe to toe with Nadal; Zverev isn't there yet!  :ptennis:

Well we have a good match showcasing the future of men's tennis; Coric vs Thiem! Coric's been on a nice roll making Shanghai final so Thiem's gonna have to work down a set already! - - - Borna is giving a little back with UFE's and it's now even a set apiece! :p

Thiem looks tired, missing easy groundstrokes, overhitting them.

Finally! Very even battle, just Domi edges Borna out.

Fred at 36% serve in the first set. The serve has badly declined looks like.

Well I hope he can manage to get to SF vs Nole so the best returner in history can knock off those weak 2nd serves! Then we can eliminate all that "pie in the sky" rhetoric about Fed snatching the #1 ranking at the YEC! :nono:  :cuckoo:
