I guess Rafa is in good form - what a thrashing.
Against #108 in the world... I would
hope the scores look like that. At least he doesn't have anyone really difficult until the quarters. We'll have a better idea about his confidence and play when he meets Ferrer.
It's always interesting to see your comments about Rafa these days because prior to 2011, you was one of his biggest fans. You have however since explained that Novak was your main guy but since he wasn't winning majors , I guess you stayed dormant with your admiration. Is that pretty accurate
Was never "dormant" about Novak and if you ask Moxie or tented, I rooted for him to win against Rafa pre-2011. If you can manage to sneak your way into the old forums at the other site... you will see for yourself.
It's just that Rafa won the bigger matches, and I did wonder if Djokovic would ever push through that.
And if you remember back in 2011,
I was rooting for Novak in Indian Wells and you were all about, "He's never beaten Rafa in a final." Then he did. And he did it again in Miami. Next you were saying he never beat Rafa on clay, and he did in Madrid. But that wasn't "real" clay and you knew Rafa was going to win Rome
because, "you could tell by the look in his eyes". And I thought after the Murray match, that Rafa would win, and was okay with it. But then Novak beat him in two in Rome. Your last one was that he never beat Rafa in five sets, but that was over in Wimbledon that year.
When it became the two of them contending for the majors and 1000's I picked my horse and stuck with him. I applauded Ralf's finding a way to get back on the winning side of things again too. Now he's climbing that ladder again, and he should have those kind of numbers against the player he faced today.
