Agree his serve needs attention, his 2nd serve is just woeful at times. He does need variety in his game, remember that scenic route he took against the Frenchman, who showed his lack of variety in his overall game.
Yap, Herbert exposed his weaknesses.

Compared to Sinner, what Musetti played today for 2 sets that was art.

I've seen Rafa playing very well (his service awful) but good legs movement, great forehand and righthand. The poor Sinner couldn't do too much, but my question is if Musetti would have done better playing vs Rafa?. My another question is when a player during the match, in this case Novak right after to finish the second set goes to the bathroom carrying the big bag, did he need to retouch the make-up? :astonished-face: sorry but that should not be allowed. And definitely Musetti needs to improve his physical, it was sad to finish the match that way

I think Musetti is more of a 'natural clay courter' he constructs a point beautifully, better than Sinner in my opinion.,I hope he plays Rafa down the track on a clay court,it will be interesting to watch.Musetti is young,he needs to improve his fitness, after the match he knows the area's he needs to improve.Musetti has game,a great future prospect.

Yes but I was very surprised the change of both players after the second set, Musetti forgot how to do the points well while Novak looks another different player

I think Musetti ran out of gas,I am just watching the match at the moment, also the womens match at the same time live at the moment.Novak just reset that is all,you can't expect a player to play on that high level, all match,it happens even to players, that have been on tour for awhile. You just have to wait for the dip and take charge of the match.

The ultimate fitness of Nadovic has saved them more than a few times! For some reason, even though they're older, today's players aren't doing enough in the gym to overcome "The Big 2" even with huge leads! They can be "waited out" because these kids can't seem to finish! Amazing for the old guys to weather the storm of so many "NG'rs" over the years! Connors, McEnroe, Lendl, & Sampras were the best of their eras, but it didn't go on and on and on! They started dropping in the rankings; not Fedalovic! :astonished-face:

Musetti had low back pain and cramps after set 2. Sadly the effort he made to win the first 2 sets sealed his doom. He needs to work on his fitness and he'll go further in future. He was class the first 2 sets. A really sad ending for the match.

I know he had pain all around and maybe that was the reason Novak looked like Tarzan. Some payers can play well and even winning a GS with a bad injury like a stomach muscle tear and having a brilliant service and others only with a discomfort cant play, incredible!

In an interview years ago, Roger said, “In order to win a Grand Slam, I need to be ready to play seven five-set matches in 14 days.” (That’s a paraphrase, but you get the idea.) This lesson seems to be lost on too many players.

It's a good quote, and a good point. But it also seems to be lost on Federer as to this RG. I know folks here have fallen on different sides of the question of Roger bowing out, more or less. But TC, this morning, did mention that the internet has not been so kind to Roger, on his decision to bow out of RG. This was reported while Paul Annacone, Roger's former coach was in the commentators chair. I'm sure he was torn about giving an opinion, because he said something so incomprehensible that it was at least clear he was very uncomfortable about the whole thing.
