I've made a lot of fun of Medvedev's chances of reaching his ambition of getting out of the first round of RG for the first time. And I can agree that Bublik is not an ideal first round. But all joking aside, Medvedev needs to decide if he's going to be Safin, or if he's going to be a real top 5 player. It's kind of funny to make sport of your own crappy clay results, and insist that you hate the surface, but I think, if he wants to be taken seriously, he should fight for his life for that first round. And for the quarterfinals, for that matter. He stepped in shit in that bottom half draw, in the sense of lucky. Get over yourself and fight for it. And a note here: he's not even the petulant, erratic Safin yet. At least Marat has 2 Majors. Medvedev needs to get over himself, a bit.
