Fantastic winning point too. He's gonna be tough to beat in this form.

Some shot there by Medvedev to break. Serving for the match now.
I told you I hadn't seen him hit a ball yet in the tournament, and that is actually the only one I saw, and it was a beaut!

I was just coming on to post about him. ADF is taking a step up this season. I just noticed that he turned 22 yesterday, which also makes him one of the clay courters with a birthday during RG, with Rafa and Iga. And with the great Bjorn Borg, who turns 65 today. Happy birthday, Bjorn!

Fixed it.
Medvedev Tsitsipas h2h 6:1 in favour of the russian with one win on clay in Monte Carlo '19. However, bookies put the greek as a favourite. I expect Med to come out with guns blazing, he has nothing to lose.

Finally medo plays so well on clay, should be hard to beat him here.
It's a long way from never having won a match at the tournament to winning the whole thing, if that's what you meant. But the bottom half is the land of opportunity, and I would say winner of Tsitsipas v. Medvedev will be the finalist from that half. However, if the finalist from the top isn't Nadal, then it should be Djokovic, so that's always going to be a big ask.

Do you know in how many matches (of the zillion he played) Fed retired during the match? Do you know in how many he withdrew before the match started? Please check the stats (not to mention compare that to similar stats of other member of big 3 or big 4) before opening your mouth.
I still hate it when Fed does this; kills himself to win a match knowing he won't have anything left to play the next round! That YEC SF several years ago defaulting the Final vs Djokovic comes to mind! It offended others so much, people thought it might affect Switzerland's Davis Cup Final the following week! Fed and Stan hashed it out, but I was so hoping Wawrinka would give Roger the finger and tell him to a few things! :angry-face:

I meant to reach the F, it will be hard for the Greek or Zverev to beat him playing like that.
Of course not winning the F, I wrote before the tournament started, the F will be Nadal- Djokovic. Novak is playing well, better than last years, but the winner will be Rafa in 4 or 5. Djoker has to wait for Wimbledon and NY.

No, no, no, no! The mens French Open champion this year is Davidovich Fokina. I guarantee it.

If Tsitsipas can not beat Medvedev on Clay with its current form, then it is really all mental from Tsitsipas at this point when it comes to Medvedev. This is an opportunity for Tsitsipas to show Medvedev and the rest of the tennis world that he is one of the future great players of the sport!

As for Medvedev, I am happy that he is playing well at RG. It means that he is willing to be an-all court player and not just a very good hard-court player. Now, I am curious to see on how he does at Wimbledon.

By the way, ranking implications for both players:

If Tsitsipas reaches the Final, he will be seeded 4th at Wimbledon that means he gets to get his own quarter at Wimbledon. Even though he can still potential face the Big Three in the Quarters, Semis and Final.

If Medvedev reaches the Final AND Djokovic loses before the final, he will be the new no.1 ranked player in the world by June 14, 2021.
