Roger Federer said,

He isn't 100% certain about playing his next match with the grass season in mind.

"I need to decide if I keep on playing or not,or if this is perfect way (to end)".
"I have to reassess the situation after the match and see in the morning how I wake up and how the knee feel the next morning".

In other words if Djokovic wins his match and reaches the QF then Federer will withdraw. :lol6:

The Men's Sweet 16,

Djokovic v Musetti
Federer v Berrettini
Nadal v Sinner
Schwartzman v Struff
Zverev v Nishikori
Davidovich Fokina v Delbonis
Tsitsipas v Carreno Busta
Medvedev v Garin
Aside from the news that Federer may decide he's played enough on clay and protect his knees for grass, (which is not unwise,):

Djokovic v. Musetti...that could be fun. They've never played, but Novak says he's practiced with him
Nadal v Sinner...Nadal wins, but Sinner could put up a big fight
Schwartzman v Struff: I've heard some say that Diego has found his game, but I haven't watched a moment of him this tournament...any thoughts?
Zverev v Nishikori: Kei got a breather, and he's playing better than he has been in a while. Upset?
Davidovich Fokina v Delbonis: Both surprised to be in this round. Veteran or youngster? Bo5 inclines the veteran, I'd think, but I'll be rooting for the kid, who is trending.
Tsitsipas v. PCB: Only the Greek
Medvedev v Garin: I don't think Garin is strong enough for Medvedev, who is on a mission to prove to everyone that he cares, even if he hates clay, and getting his socks dirty.

I feel Novak will be too strong for Musetti, though what a great experience and learning curve for him
Nadal better find his serve and also his length on his ground shots, which were too short at times.
I have only watched high lights of Diego's matches, this match will be tough,Struff will not go away in the match
I still think Zverev will win, though he was helped with the roof being closed, with his serve in his last match.
The Young Greek continues onwards
Medvedev apparently likes RG.he says he likes it playing fast.lets put him on at night in slow conditions? see how he fares, dirty socks and all.Agree Garin wont bother him.

The only caveat on that is Garin just beat Medvedev at the Madrid Open a month ago, on faster clay court surface with altitude. I agree that if Medvedev has changed his attitude on clay, this is the type of match with a classic dirt baller he’s going to have to grind his way through.

I'm not upset at all and not a fan of Zverev so go Nishikori! :D

I don't think Fed would beat Berettini despite the condition of his knees.

Medvedev is playing like a real Russian bear, destroying Garin.

Weak 2nd serves by the Greek. Daniil will have his chances in the QF.

Right now, Medvedev is rolling Garin, 2 and 1. That's not at all what I was predicting...I would have expected same as you. I have not seen one minute of Medvedev playing this tournament, so I don't know if he's made real tactical changes, or if it was a mental switch flipped. But I liked him over Garin here for experience. If it had been first round, I probably would have picked the Chilean, but Danii does seem to be playing his way into RG, and is committed to acting more like a #2 seed than like a petulant child.

My question is, can they to get out of a Tournament without any injury o something else very important that they can't play?. If Federer has discomfort in his knee then I don't think he can play well in grass which is around the corner but if he is only trying to keep his strength for WB I don't think it's fair and correct

Federer should be suspended. It's absolutely embarrassing that he is entering a slam as a "preparation" for the grass season and ruining the draw like that. So much for playing for the "love of the game". And please don't defend him, he is not injured, he is only withdrawing so that he has a better chance on grass and at Wimbledon. If he had played the same exact matches in the first 3 rounds at Wimbledon then he wouldn't have withdrawn. Absolutely disrespectful and I hope he gets fined.
