Roger Federer said,
He isn't 100% certain about playing his next match with the grass season in mind.
"I need to decide if I keep on playing or not,or if this is perfect way (to end)".
"I have to reassess the situation after the match and see in the morning how I wake up and how the knee feel the next morning".
Not at all he could withdraw his 4th rd match against Matteo.Roger and his team will access his knee before his 4th rd matchIn other words if Djokovic wins his match and reaches the QF then Federer will withdraw.
You were saying... I wasn't able to watch the rest and I'm sure Fed wasn't thinking it would be that hard, but in the end he got the job done.
This is not 2006.
Aside from the news that Federer may decide he's played enough on clay and protect his knees for grass, (which is not unwise,):The Men's Sweet 16,
Djokovic v Musetti
Federer v Berrettini
Nadal v Sinner
Schwartzman v Struff
Zverev v Nishikori
Davidovich Fokina v Delbonis
Tsitsipas v Carreno Busta
Medvedev v Garin
I feel Novak will be too strong for Musetti, though what a great experience and learning curve for himAside from the news that Federer may decide he's played enough on clay and protect his knees for grass, (which is not unwise,):
Djokovic v. Musetti...that could be fun. They've never played, but Novak says he's practiced with him
Nadal v Sinner...Nadal wins, but Sinner could put up a big fight
Schwartzman v Struff: I've heard some say that Diego has found his game, but I haven't watched a moment of him this tournament...any thoughts?
Zverev v Nishikori: Kei got a breather, and he's playing better than he has been in a while. Upset?
Davidovich Fokina v Delbonis: Both surprised to be in this round. Veteran or youngster? Bo5 inclines the veteran, I'd think, but I'll be rooting for the kid, who is trending.
Tsitsipas v. PCB: Only the Greek
Medvedev v Garin: I don't think Garin is strong enough for Medvedev, who is on a mission to prove to everyone that he cares, even if he hates clay, and getting his socks dirty.
The only caveat on that is Garin just beat Medvedev at the Madrid Open a month ago, on faster clay court surface with altitude. I agree that if Medvedev has changed his attitude on clay, this is the type of match with a classic dirt baller he’s going to have to grind his way through.Medvedev v Garin: I don't think Garin is strong enough for Medvedev, who is on a mission to prove to everyone that he cares, even if he hates clay, and getting his socks dirty.
I'm not upset at all and not a fan of Zverev so go Nishikori!Aside from the news that Federer may decide he's played enough on clay and protect his knees for grass, (which is not unwise,):

Right now, Medvedev is rolling Garin, 2 and 1. That's not at all what I was predicting...I would have expected same as you. I have not seen one minute of Medvedev playing this tournament, so I don't know if he's made real tactical changes, or if it was a mental switch flipped. But I liked him over Garin here for experience. If it had been first round, I probably would have picked the Chilean, but Danii does seem to be playing his way into RG, and is committed to acting more like a #2 seed than like a petulant child. The only caveat on that is Garin just beat Medvedev at the Madrid Open a month ago, on faster clay court surface with altitude.
