Sinner is a little error-prone, but nothing that shouldn't be ironed out over the next year or two. I expect he'll be angling for a spot in the top 10 a year from now, and be at least close to elite by 2022, if not sooner.

One of the things I've been impressed with is despite his errors and some visible upset, he doesn't lose it completely and seems to stabilize his emotions rather quickly.
The second obvious thing, when he started breaking out, after his terrific game, was his calm and maturity for his age. And how about the creativity on THAT shot?

It is rare to see someone push Rafa like this. I think the chances of an upset are miniscule, but he's faring far better than I thought he would.
I posted before he beat Zverev that I thought he'd trouble Rafa more than Sasha. Much more clay game and better head. Total unknown in terms of how much he might push him, but I wasn't going to be surprised if he got a set or more.

Rafa is not playing well so far but he’s managing to hang in there. :unsure: He’s probably off because of the weather it’s probably freezing at this time in Paris.:negative:

Let’s go Rafa let’s go! :dance2::pompoms:

The number of players who have taken a set off of Rafa at Roland Garros is remarkable short - only 15:

7 Djokovic
4 Federer
3 Soderling
2 Isner
1 each: Hewitt, Mathieu, Puerta, Grosjean, Ferrer, Thiem, Goffin, Schwartzman, Sock, Klizan, Brands
TC said earlier that Rafa has won his last 37 matches at RG, and lost 3 sets in those.

Tennis Channel is definitely on the campaign to get Hawkeye for clay. I wonder how much longer RG and the rest of the clay tournaments will hold out?

GOATdal is finally starting to play better. It’s a good effort to finish this off in three sets, so that he can go to sleep. :sleep2:

The kid is finding it harder to hang with Rafa.
Understandable. But Sinner impressed in many ways. Future so bright he's gonna have to wear shades.
